Tonight I'll be at Fat Cat's on Washington for an early set by Steel Train, a great 'new' jam band that my daughter Chelsea works with. Then I'll appear at a benefit to help offset funeral expenses for Matthew Young, a great young drummer from Galveston (you may know his work with CitiZEN Change) who passed away a few weeks ago.
Steel Train - an established New England jam band who has toured for several years allready - has a penchant for great coworkers like my daughter, as evidenced by the fact that they share a producer with the likes of The Grateful Dead, Crosby & Nash, Van Morrison, Jefferson Airplane, The Tubes and The New Riders of The Purple Sage.
Steel Train's new CD - produced by Stephen Barncard - is a blast! Great playing, great sound! Chelsea has followed these guys for years, worked with them the past 4 years or so, and I'm so proud of them all!
It's a busy day, so I'll just be giving you a few programming notes and the music calendar.

Hippies.TV (on Warner Cable Channel 17 at 10pm Fridays) will rerun last month's show on RUSTED SHUT - which only played in part the first time.
I'll perform with The New Jack Hippies tomorrow Saturday afternoon at The Artist Garden at 3402 Laura Koppe. The show starts at 4, we play at 5, and the bill features Teri Greene, JB Money and more.....
I'll perform with The New Jack Hippies next Saturday night (June 4) at Bojangles in Clear Lake.
