Also - there's a song which Roger and I wrote about 8 years ago, that has become sort of an in-joke because we recorded it that day onto a cassette.

 

The song is called 'Love Against The World'

 

This recording had so much soul and all of the right notes, but the tape hiss was horrible from the cassette. Try and try as we could, we could never get another recording with that good a groove for this one song. we reorded it live at two birthday jams, and in the studio with John Chupin, then again with Leesa Squyres, and although both of those sessions yeilded great tracks which wound up on other CDs, we could never capture 'Love vs. The World'.

 

We finally got it last month. Randy Wall was at Roger's for an overdub on something else and we gave it a try. It worked!

 

Here's a link to 'Love vs. The World', the video. It's just Roger and I walking and toking around at the arboretum, but the music is the star. Thanks to MArlo and Kerri for the camera work, and to Randy Wall for beautiful piano!

Still looking for more venues for both tours, espescially house concerts in the midwest for April, as well as great original Houston musicians and bands for SOUTH BY DUE EAST 2006. Volunteers to help at the events, too! Let me know if something, someplace or someone comes to mind.

 

I'm serious about your suggestions regarding local artists for SOUTH BY DUE EAST 2006. I can't get out to see everyone, and there are lots of new musicians here, as well! Send your recommendations!
