I just returned from visiting with DJ Woo at KPFT studios, after a fun hour at Dan Electro's blues jam, and a quick visit to see a few new bands at Helios (in our search for new local talent for SOUTH BY DUE EAST).
Everything we're doing this week points to BLUESGUY'S BIRTHDAY JAM #6, to be held here in the back yard on Sunday afternoon at 3pm 'til 7 or 8 or so...
Besides my New Jack Hippies rhythm section (Roger, Leesa, Chaz) we'll be hosting Opie Hendrix, Pat Brink, Chango Jackson and Michael Heyman.
Carrie Ann Buchanan and Jimmy Deen are expected to sit-in with The Hippies, and Opie sez he'll bring The Texas Tallboys' Band!
We'll have some marinated chicken from the Michoacan Meat Market, and you're welcome to BYOBooze, Beer or Beef (or zuchinni) to throw on the grill. MArlo will have the cameras and new lights out, so come help us celebrate and shoot a Hippies.TV show.

I'll play bass with Roomful of Mirrors at Fitzgeraid's the night before, just a part of the festivities for Rock Romano's 102nd birthday, which will include The Hightailers, Tommy Dardar, Herschel Berry, and a whole lot of other musicians, too!
