I'm still too busy to write about everything! NO more time to deal with the aftermaths of two great events. Gotta get ready for the road. I'll write all about South By Due East as soon as i can. Thanks again to all the volunteers - bands and crew! I hope to have time to write about it on the road.

I'm heading out with Opie Hendrix, and it should be a blast. I'll just pass along what Opie had to say about that on his myspace page. It was a nice (and nicely written) piece, and I appreciate him AND his optimism -
-----
MAY THE SCHWARTZ BE WITH ME
or... How I've  grown up to be van hailin'
By Opie Hendrix
Hey kids, it's time for another blog, rant and/or blind stab at wee-hour philosophy.  This Sunday I begin what will be a two week road trip with my good buddy and fellow music maker Guy Schwartz.  Actually we don't "hit the road" untill Tuesday's show in Dallas but, we'll kick it off in H-Town @ the Last Concert Cafe this Sunday before Fahl & Folk's set.

I can guess what you're thinking..."How can two EGO's that size fit in one van?"  Answer: We rented a trailer!

But, seriuosly...

Imagine how safe Houston will seem with both of us gone at the same time...R eally I kid, I kid.  Sorry, I went all "Don Rickles" for a second.  You don't want to see my Emo Phillips...But enough about me...

So we'll be rolling and stoping thru the beautiful city of Russellville Arkansas.  Visiting the kind folks in Dayton Ohio.  Partying too hard with my good friends in Indianapolis (Not to mention turning Schwartz on to the BEST FUCKING PIZZA ON  THE FACE OF THE EARF ! that of course being PIZZA KING).

Singing our dreams away for two wonderful nights in Nashville.  Rocking two states at once while in Jeffersonville right-smack across the Ohio river fron Louisville Kentucky.

Will we get on each others nerves?  All the studies and statistics point to yes.  Truth be told, we don't always agree but, Opie and Guy Schwartz get along GREAT.  Like...peanutbutter and chocolate, band-aids and scrapes or rubber and glue.  I love and respect him as a friend and artist.  Hell, we jam together with comfort and ease.  I think it's mainly because we think we can kick the others ass.

The fact remains "BluesGuy" is a do'er.  A mover and shaker, a 100 proof P.T. Barnum and Houston's answer to the Brill building.  ( I get to be Neil Diamond)  If you were at this year's SXDE (South-by DueEast) you know what I'm talking about.

To make a short story longer, we will be stripped of our backing bands and tour as acoustic troubadors.  Hitting town by town.  Be it coffee house or tavern to Showcase venue.  Armed only with our songs and gutairs.( I'm gonna bring the banjo and mandolin too but, you get the picture) Sounds glamourous, don't it.  Well, you're right.  It's gonna be cool as shit.  Wanna go for a ride?

If you're in Houston this Sunday (4/2/06) see how we get started on what could very well be the most uplifting and unjustifiable chapter in my personal Rock-n-Roll history.

----------

One of my two gigs on Sunday will be to perform at The Blueshound's 4th Annual Spring Howl at Dan Electro's Guitar Bar. Two hours later, Opie and I begin our tour at the Last Concert Cafe (a 6pm set), before leaving for Dallas and way beyond....
