July 11 at The Famous ROOT BAR Ashville, North Carolina (GS)
July 22nd at JP HOPS HOUSE on Hwy 6 @ Westheimer, Houston (njh)
July 28th BILLY BLOCK'S WESTERN BEAT/Houston at Dan Electro's

NEW VIDEO
Check out two new Hippies.TV episodes on the web. Neither has been shown on TV yet!

At www.westernbeathouston.guyschwartz.com I just uploaded the program edited from June's live show and taping at Billy Block's Western Beat/Houston, starring Buck Jones, Danny Everitt, Chris Knudson, The Scott Daniels Band and hosted by Billy Block and me! Billy and I also play with the house band (The Western Beat Hippies).

At www.southbydueeast.com there is a new program featuring Giancarlo Cafferena and Scotty Daniels, from their sets at South By Due East 2006 in March.

----------
REPORT FROM DONNA'S FIELD
Another Zyrtec and I'll probably be allright!
----------
From where I sit, things look pretty good!

I'm at Donna's house!

Some of you may remember Donna from SOUTH BY DUE EAST 2006, where she cooked for days and kept the crew and artists well fed. She was great, and made an equally great impression on everyone. She's cooking here, too, and I don't ever want to leave!

Donna's the maven of North Carolina foods and cooking, and ships it all over the world. If you're interested in that sort of thing, check her out at www.sosouthern.com

Donna lives in the foothills of the Appalacian Mountains, about 15 miles west of
Winston-Salem, North Carolina. I'm doing the same things I always do, but I'm doing them in this gorgeous cottage filled with cool artistic chatchkes, surrounded by so much lush greenery (all kinds), rolling hills, and a lake....

Look forward to being back home in Houston in a few days. The New Jack Hippies will be getting ready for a show on July 22nd at JP HOPS HOUSE on Hwy 6, followed by BILLY BLOCK'S WESTERN BEAT/Houston at Dan Electro's on the last friday of the month, July 28th, but for now I'm editing video, recording, and getting ready for tomorrow's gig in Ashville, North Carolina, at The Famous ROOT BAR, with Dave Turner and Paco Shipp!

I got to play and sing with Colin Alured (from THINKING PLYERS) an his friend Amos at The Gallery Hop in Winston-Salem, NC on Friday night. What fun! Colin's guitar playing has gotten even better, and his voice is taking on silky proportions.

MArlo, I and the Scion rolled into the valley in which Nashville sits just as the July 4th fireworks began lighting up the sky. It was truly amazing, as we were able to see at least 7 different sets of fireworks on the vista at the same time. Our motel was situated in an excellent position for fireworks watching, and hundreds had gathered there. We pulled up, fired up, and watched the big lights by the river for twenty minutes before entering the office to check in. They seem to have finally gotten the purples down, because the violets and fuschias in the fireworks were like none I'd seen before!

It stormed during the mountain trip on the 5th, so MArlo drove while I tried not to freak out. MArlo's driving is OK, and I love the mountains, but slick mountain roads have a 'special' effect on me.

So, now I'm out to finish the SOUTH BY DUE EAST 2006 film and meet some north Carolina musicians. They are very proud of their acoustic heritage and 'Piedmont' style blues, and that's allright with me. I hope to find some type of interesting musical fit while I'm here...
