PUBLIC SELF-SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
Remember - although available at iTunes, bestbuy.com, rhapsody and all of the other music sites, the cheapest way to download all of The New Jack Hippies CDs is at cdbaby.com/hippies ($3 per album!)
---

The monitor on the left is uploading a first ruff edit of the video for the eventual final version of the guide to jams & open mics. I'm uploading this so you can help me!

If you can identify those jammers at Christians Tailgate on Tuesday night, or the musicians at the Zydeco jam at The Big Easy on Sunday, please let me know. The ruff edit will be online at ( jams.guyschwartz.com/finalruff.wmv ) by the time you read this.

After I knock out a few bugs and add the crawling words (like they run underneath the anchors on the news channels), this first edition of the guide will be done, helping visitors find our jams & open mics, and giving folks a taste of over 100 area musicians and vocalists! I love my job!

Hippies.TV
10pm Friday Night - Comcast Cable Channel 17
----------
Tonight's episode of Hippies.TV is a collection of performances I gathered at all of the Thursday jams & open mics as I was taping for the JAMS & OPEN MICS film I'm working on.

Featured are Mark May and band at the Spring Tavern, Wrecks Bell at The Old Quarter, me & The New jack Hippies at JP Hops House, Tim Cannon and Teri Greene with the house band at Dan Electro's, Tommy Rogers at The Cross-Eyed Seagull, and many more...

All of the nightly JAMS & OPEN MICS collections with extended performances are up now at jams.guyschwartz.com - and soon, the final reference film will be there, too!

----------
BLUESGUY'S BIRTHDAY JAM #8
February 17 - 3pm in our back yard!
Big Al Bettis, Chris Elliott, Hippies, more...
----------
The birthday jam is taking on additional momentum, too. After the initial word got out about appearances by Big Al Bettis, and  TC & The Cannonballs joining The New Jack Hippies and our special guests Chris Elliott (AND his Bodacious Ta-Ta's), I got an email from the lovely and talented Mandy Mercier from Austin, telling me of her intentions to come to the party to celebrate, make music and sing for her supper! How cool is that!

Thennn... there was a myspace message from Larry 'Lownote' Johnson telling me that John McVey & The Stumble would all be in attendance, and wouldn't mind a little stage-time (yard-time) themselves! Pretty cool, but this party, which begins around 3pm, is usually over by 6 or 7pm - so now we may have to actually plan this out and organize a schedule!

Check my websites for poster links to the directions!

SOUTH BY DUE EAST 2008, scheduled for Dan Electro's Guitar Bar in March (14th-17th), is starting to shape up, too.

Already committed to subjecting themselves to our cameras and recorders are -

Herschell Berry, The Octanes, The Naked (Las Vegas),
Mark May, Robert Smalls Group, Chrystal Antlers (Long Beach, CA),
Muzak, Big Al Bettis, Westborn, Orange Is In, Fahl & Dahl,
Tommy Dardar, Little Screamin' Kenny, Sabra Laval, Tressie Sellars (Tyler),
Don#2 Walsh, Another Run, Guy Schwartz & The New Jack Hippies,
El Gato Negrito, Chris Elliott & The Bodacious Ta Tas, Idol Hand,
3 Kisses, Jambolism, TC & The Cannonballs, Aaron Trumm,
Leslie Newman, Glenna Bell, Dertybird (Austin), Johnny Smith, and there will be twice that many before we're through!

We are still looking for all types of volunteers to augment our SOUTH BY DUE EAST regulars and newbies. We need artists to come with a couple more backdrop ideas and backdrops. We need techs and helpers on our camera crew, sound recording crew, live sound crew, help at the gates and front door (even for one day - it's a 4-day videoshoot/live recording & free concert), and cook's assistant for 'Donna From North Carolina' - our volunteer caterer (she pays for her own flight to come feed our artists! Everybody say, "yea Donna!"), as well as volunteers with new ideas to make our event and film better than it already is!
