HIGHTAILERS 20th ANNIVERSARY
FPH 100th ISSUE CELEBRANZA

You are invited to my birthday party!

We'll be celebrating Dr. Rockit's birthday as well! The party will be Sunday February 15th from 3-7pm in our back yard (www.guyschwartz.com/party), featuring Jim Settle's BBQ and performances from Rock, The New Jack Hippies and Chango Man. If you see Chango Man, remind him to get to the border to pick up the band in time!

Free Press Houston celebrates it's 100th issue with a party at Numbers on Saturday night! Right on! Congrats to all of the Omars and such - and keep up the good work!

FPH 100th Issue Celebranza
Saturday @ Numbers
w/ Monotonix, State Radio, The Tontons, American Fangs, Rebelution, and Tha Fucking Transmissions.

This letter will not be as eloquent and packed with info as I had intended it to be. It won't come out on Tuesday, as I had originally planned. During our busy periods, essays for this letter seem to get left at the bottom on my digitized list of priorities. And with my Birthday party next Sunday and SBDE2009 a month away, things are buzzing around here.

Last night, my priorities began with a paid gig, at TV commercial for The Tavern on Gray, and went late with a big party at The Last Concert Cafe - the first night of The Hightailers long weekend of parties and videotapings of their 20th Anniversary as a band. Along with Dr. Rockit, Rock Romano, the fully expanded Hightailers rocked 'til 4am, with Dogman expanding his vocals, actions and character for the cameras and us. They'll be back at the Cafe tonight, and at Dan Electro's tomorrow, all of it taped for the video project. Congrats to the band!

TWO NEW TV SERIES
'MUSICEVERYMARCH' & 'GUY SCHWARTZ' ROAD JOURNAL'
Both Premiere This Friday at 10pm
Houston Comcast Cable Channel 17
or online at www.Hippies.Tv
----------
Tonight begins the full run of our two new half hour TV series, as well as two series of shorts. It begins with the pilot episode of GUY SCHWARTZ' ROAD JOURNAL at 10pm on HMS-TV, Houston Comcast channel 17, but you may also catch them on the web at www.Hippies.TV

The programs and shorts are -

'GUY SCHWARTZ' ROAD JOURNAL' is exactly what you'd think it is! I toured this summer without planned gigs. In each town, I hunted for music and musicians until I found them - then made music happen on camera. This Friday, we begin with the pilot episode - an overview of the whole trip, featuring Pat Brink, Levon Louis, Gurf Morlix, Parker Dulany, Steven Dahl, Lizzie & Ruel, Howler, and a whole lot more (keep an eye out for Vermont's 'The Toilet Bugz'). Hope you like it!

'MUSIC EVERY MARCH' features live musical performances from SOUTH BY DUE EAST in a 30-minute format. It's sort of like it's 60-minute cousin, 'SOUTH BY DUE EAST TELEVISION', but it's all local music, with none of the comedy, poetry and road bands we feature on SBDE-TV. All of the artists play locally, or have history here in Houston. This week features Adrian & The Sickness, Z-Rocks & Dr. King Cobra and The Texas Dub Crusaders!

If you watch on TV, you'll also see shorts with Dr. Rockit at SBDE, and The New Jack Hippies at my Birthday Jam this year. If you watch on the web, look out for our two new series of shorts, MADE UP ON THE SPOT, and TEACH THE BAND A SONG, each bearing a much more descriptive name than SOUTH BY DUE EAST or 'Hippies.TV'

It's all at www.Hippies.TV

Now it's time to play some more music. The band will perform, jam, and back-up other musicians a few times during the next 6 weeks, including our sets at SOUTH BY DUE EAST 2009 (www.southbydueeast.com), and at BluesGuy's Birthday Jam #9, my birthday party next Sunday in our back yard by the bayou. Directions at www.guyschwartz.com/party

NEW GUY SCHWARTZ CD!
Chameleon v3.5
----------
I know that many of my friends in Houston and on the road have had this CD for a few months, but -

My new CD has finally dropped! It may be the best one I've ever done.

'Chameleon v3.5' is a studio album and features the smaller rhythm section, usually Roger and I plus a drummer (John Chupin, Mickey Burton or Leesa Harrington-Squyres).

The music runs the gamut of electric styles I like to work with - rock, blues, funk, americana. The additional musicians are limited to Randy Wall and the Horns (Patrick Brink, Alisha Hanley) on a couple of songs.

It's now available online at CDbaby.com & iTunes.com, and is now or soon at Best Buy, Rhapsody, Wal-Mart and wherever you like to buy CDs and downloads.

I hope you like it!
