| *RADIO TODAY *Hippies.TV TONIGHT *WONDERLAND, NY DOLLS, & HAPPY BIRTHDAY DOGMAN! *WEEKEND MUSIC CALENDAR We're on the radio and internet in an hour (KPFT-FM90.1 and www.kpft.org) with live recorded music from SOUTH BY DUE EAST. Greetings from H-Town! Sometimes that stands for Humidity-Town, but for the past two Thursdays in a row, we recieved a couple of those summertime cold fronts where a mass of cold canadian air hits this city and lowers the temperature by a full one or two degrees. That doesn't really help the temperature, but it does blow the humidity away and create a breeze, two things we'll bee missing during July and August. That's why I always try to tour up north during July-Sept, (or longer), whether I have a good tour lined up or not! MArlo and I used the break in the heat to see a few really cool shows, and the video from one is up now. Last night we dug The new York Dolls, and were thrilled to visit with with Ian Varley (keyboards from Drop Trio), who was on tour with Black Joe Louis, who opened the show at The House of Blues. The Dolls rocked, and Black Joe Louis did, too. Catch these guys,! Thanks to Joey Guerra from The Houston Chronicle for the hookup for the show. We followed that with some Hightailers at The Last Concert Cafe, so we could wish Dogman a happy birthday. ---------- NEW VIDEO Wonderland on the Green ---------- Last week, we caught (on camera, too) Carolyn Wonderland at Discovery green. Awesome show, great venue, and cool video. One song is up at our YouTube (www.youtube.com/siriushippies), and I posted a five song video at my facebook last night, including one by The Mighty Orq, who opened at the park. Thanks to Allen Hill, who put together this summertime Thursday Night Concert Series at Discovery Green. ---------- RADIO TODAY @ NOON South By Due East Radio! ---------- Toady at noon, catch SOUTH BY DUE EAST RADIO on KPFT-FM90.1 (or later in the www.kpft.org archives).
