I wanted to get out the Blueshound's Houston calendar for my Houston friends, but there's no time to write about the good stuff (and there's plenty!). My apologies to Hippies around the world for this brief promo. I guess it's time to start another list for those who want the calendar whenever I can send it, regardless of whether I have time to write something about the music or musicians. I'll address that soon...
Guy Schwartz & The New Jack Hippies will perform tonight at St. Pete's Dancing Marlin (Congress at Main Street, downtown). It's our first foray into the new downtown club scene, and we're excited! Thanks to Wil Space for the booking!
Right now, Alan Cunningham (Hippie # 260) is coming over to help me get the gear there. Then I'll videotape Opie Hendrix at Cactus Records at 6pm before our gig at 9:30pm.
BTW - Alan lost his job at the sound company yesterday (everybody's cutting back in this economy), so if you need help - he needs a gig.
