It's late, and if I don't write now, I won't make it this week, either!
Professionally, things couldn't be better.
Sunday night - after midnight - Guy Schwartz & The New Jack Hippies will play on Pat & Rosie's Nightsounds on KPFT-FM90.1 in Houston (or www.kpft.org on the web) at 1am CDT.
Tonight, we play at The Houston Press Music Awards Show at The Engine Room, and I'm nominated for three of the awards (best song, best songwriter and best musician).
Maybe I'll win something. Maybe not! Either way, I'd like to thank Carolyn Wonderland for moving to Austin and making it possible for Graham Guest and I to have some hope that one of us might actually might win the musician of the year nod!
Today was the fourth anninversary of the night I met Marlo at the old Thursday night Blues jam at Dan Electro's. We're talking to Dr. Zoomack about playing there in the fall. Happy Anniversary, Marlo! Thanks for everything!
Today, I finished The New Jack Hippies Movie - or, at least, the first cut of it. Plus, we've got over 50 new songs in the can, and most of the guys are starting to talk about going out on the road again.
Friday - we'll be playing in the KCOH parking lot for a SIDS benefit from 10am - noon.
Here's your weekend calendar. Thanks for your support!
