What a busy time it is!
First - the Gigs!
Guy Schwartz & The New Jack-o-Lantern Hippies
Halloween Night
at The Warehouse
(Lupe Olivares new venue - remember Lupe from THE BASICS!)
1802 Washington Ave. (A few doors down from the Rhythm Room)
Jimmy Rose AND Matt Johnson will play drums with Chaz, Roger and I)
Thursday - tonight
Leesa & I will play with Little Joe Washington
at The Zydeco Cafe in Pearland
1300 Broadway 281-648-6500
5:30-7:30pm
In the coming week, I will play three times in public, finish demo packages and online location scouting for the Amsterdam trip (Marlo and I will make a movie of Carolyn Wonderland's first trip to work for Euros), and do overdubs for my upcoming CD. Vince Bell will be in to sing some harmony (as will Opie & Carrie Ann), and the Secret Agent 8 horns will drop in for a session, as well. Little Joe is coming by to do a guitar track after the gig this evening! The work never ends!
But then...
I love my work!
This past week, we did 2 shows at Rhythm Room, and the set at The Philip Green benefit included (besides Roger, Chaz & I) Andy Rogers, Carlos & Teri Greene. Live recordings were phenomenal! I've been busy putting finishing touches on a dozen of the 60 (or so) songs which will be on the next album (a 4 CD studio set), preparing to go to Amsterdam with Carolyn (Marlo's busier with this than I am), putting videos on the web for our next website, HIPPIES' TV (www.hippies.tv), which should be up and connected soon, and getting ready for gigs tonight and tomorrow. If you wish to see the test video site, the temporary URL is printed below.
I wish there was time to write more, but you can see it's a very busy period. Citizen Doug (who drums on a great track we did the other night) is on his way with some field sound gear for the trip/movie, and I have to run. There will probably be no newsletter next week from Amsterdam, so check the KPFT site for the blueshound's calendar list. They reprint The Blueshound's list, just as I do.
