Begins Tonight - Friday!
----------
Tonight at 10pm, the first episode of Hippies.TV will be aired on Cable Channel 17 in most of Houston. The show will feature Carolyn Wonderland's trip to Amsterdam last year, with live performance and candid footage, with a short featuring Jimmy Deen and I with The New Jack Hippies, lip-synching and mugging to the recording of MEXICAN TULIPS from the new (to be released next week) TEXACOUSTICANA CD.

Hippies.TV will air every Friday night at 10pm, until they cancel us, or we receive a better (paying) offer. This intitial commitment runs through next April!

While we're away, next Friday's Hippies.TV show on channel 17 will be BLUESGUY'S BIRTHDAY JAM #4, featuring performances from my birthday party last year, including Sonny boy Terry, Tracy Conover, Heath Spencer Philip, Mark Zeus, Op[ie Hendrix, and more...

BLAZE FOLEY MURDER CORRECTION
I Screwed up the story
----------
I wasn't in Austin then, and didn't live through the events surrounding Blaze Foley's death. When I tried to recall thye stories to you recently, I took two events and meshed them into one. My collective memory didn't get it right. My apologies to anyone who's feeling I hurt. Here's my best correction, the one I sent to real publishers. The one which is closer to the real story....

Blaze was killed by a the son of a friend & drinking buddy.

No one who wasn't there knows, but it seems that upon one occasion, Blaze stood up to make a self-rightious point (probably with a LOT of emphasis!) to his buddy's crackhead son.

Blaze was big and tall. When he got into your face to make a point, he could certainly be intimidating.

According to the legend, the crackhead son held the anger over being out-machoed by Blaze, and eventually, on another occasion, the son came to steal Dad's Social Security check, found Blaze present and decided to pull a gun out of his pants, out of his house, out of rage, or out of a feeling of self-defense. However it happened, he pulled the gun from somewhere and shot Blaze Foley to death. It was a screwed up trial, and the murderer went free. The son now works in a mission, for the homeless...

If you want to know more about Blaze, check out the music. You can start with the new OVAL ROOM CD.

That's it for now. See you where the live music is...
