Hi all,
it's your friendly list owner Henry here. I was just doing my usual
administrative tasks when I realised how nobody had posted to the
list for so long, even though we now have a substantial membership.
So... to get the ball rolling, I thought it would be nice if we all
wrote a little post introducing ourselves to the list. Who are you,
and how does being a U2 fan connect to you being non-heterosexual?
I'll start. :) I'm Henry, on the verge of 25, a Scorpio, queer
transman, & U2 fan. I live in Perth, Western Australia & I've just
completed my BA (hons) in history. I'm hoping to do postgrad study
next year & in the meantime, will perform entry level office tasks in
return for a small but useful wage... I've been a serious U2 fan
since the release of Achtung Baby. The link between being queer and
being a U2 fan isn't always obvious beyond "I like their music", but
I do feel that Bono in particular expresses the kind of masculinity I
aspire to. That, & I've had a lot of heartache (with members of all
genders) which the B-man is always so good at expressing... oh and
how could I forget! I think Bono is the sexiest man I've ever seen, &
I'm a guy ;)
Rgds
Henry.
