>>I definately know that U2 advocate for human rights for everyone. Also, a
song by U2 >>(Night and Day - Youth's Remix) is on Out Loud: For the Human
Rights and Freedom of >>Lesbians and Gays which was released in 1995.
Not to mention use of Keith Harring images during the POP Mart tour during One.
Footage of Leigh Bowery was also used during the Lemon sequence of POP Mart as
well. Larry's choice of attire at the Super Bowl (Do you remember? Sheer Black
- I guess he wanted Boy George to know he really DID work on his pecks -- lol!!
oh my) ... the list really does go on.
But it's not all positive press either ... I found this article:
http://www.signorile.com/articles/gcbono.html
Basically, Bono is being chastised in the article for his willingness to work
with extreme right American government officials. At the same time it glorifies
Barbara Streisand (ew)!! But it does note U2's affiliation with the Out Loud CD
and recognizes U2's support of the Gay community. It's probably not exactly the
most credible commentary on the face of the earth, as it refers to Bono's caving
to get an issue looked at. That's what good politicking is ... you have to
play on everyone's good side. It may please or displease, but it's a simple
fact of politics.

>really?! that's fabulous! i had no idea. mind you, U2 and i sorta parted ways
for the >>majority of the 90's (let's just say we had *musical differences*), so
i'm out of the >>loop as to a lot of what went on during that period.
That's a shame ... you missed a lot.
