Well, here's MY story about Fanfire and U2.com membership.

Ever since the mid 80's, my best friend and I have split our Propaganda
membership. We aren't greedy like some folks I know who actually signed
up their freakin' DOG. All we wanted was news and a fair shot at
tickets through the fan club.

We had absolutely no problem with getting tickets through Prop. I loved
Prop!

Then things changed. Sort of.

When it was announced that Propaganda would be replaced with U2.com
membership, no sweat. We were to get a discount as returning Propaganda
members. Half price for U2.com membership.

COOL! So we went for it. And we got it with ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS OR
GLITCHES.

And, yes, I heard all the horror stories.

Then came the ticket fiasco. We didn't score tickets, but then neither
did anyone else. Larry took care of that for us, and we scored our
tickets as promised without any problem. Thanks Larry!

A couple of weeks ago, it was time for us to renew our U2.com
membership. Instead of doing it online, we called Fanfire over the
telephone. I waited for an operator for less than 5 minutes, renewed
the membership in less than 10 minutes. Again, no problem. The young
lady who helped us was named Happiness. I kid you not. She lived up to
her name and the experience was a joy. Happiness gave us a coupon code
for 25% off any U2.com purchase. COOL!

I got that coupon in my email 48 hours later.

LESS than 10 days later, the U2 Communication CD's arrived in the mail.
The threat of copying it and sharing it was also included.

My story seems to be the exception, I know, but we have had absolutely
NO problems with our U2.com membership. NOTHING.

While I still don't trust Fanfire, I really cannot say that I have had a
bad experience with them. Same goes for U2.com. Pricey? YES! But U2
are the biggest freakin' band on the planet; the price for their fanclub
is less than some, more than others.

I wish it was that easy to renew my driver's license!

U2 ROCKS!
WOO HOO!
:o)

Ron
