Hi Mick
Sorry but I won't be with you this weekend.
June/July seems to be singing every weekend of one sort or another. More
importantly, I seem to be filling the car's fuel tank rather often.
Cost-wise, something had to go!
Hope all goes well
Tony

Subject: [uksacredharp] Stour Estuary Singing Weekend - Bradfield, Essex
this coming weekend!
> Hi All,
>
> Please accept my apologies for having been absent from so many singings
> recently - and for dropping Steve and Martin in it with the organisation
> of the Stour Estuary weekend - please also let me record my thanks to them
> for keeping it alive (and keeping me going).
>
> Anyhow, on Friday we will gather at the Strangers' Home Inn, Bradfield,
> Essex (camping still available) for food (chilli/rice or selections from
> the bar menu), drink and music (hopefully, if the weather is kind,
> outdoors). There will be a Sacred Harp presence on site from mid-afternoon
> and the event will start at about 7pm.
>
> On Saturday morning we will gather at Bradfield Methodist Church for an
> all-day singing. There will be concurrent?singing schools in the first
> part of the day,?for beginners and more advanced singers, as last year,
> depending, of course, on actual numbers. We will enjoy a Bring and Share
> lunch and sing until about 4pm, after which there will be an opportunity
> to preview/rehearse music for the Sunday West Gallery service (of which
> more later).
>
> On Saturday evening we move to Harwich Town Sailing Club for?our barbecue
> by the beach, taking advantage of the newly-refurbished (and still cheap)
> Sailing Club bar, and with entertainment from amongst our many talented
> singers.. The minibus will run, as last year (only better), offering a
> stop at Morrisons for those who need food for the barbecue, to ensure that
> no-one needs to worry about what they drink, or getting lost (in either
> direction).
>
>
> Please join us on the sunday morning for our West Gallery church service,
> in which we will celebrate the Primitive Methodist heritage of Bradfield.
> We shall sing some of the most popular songs of 'the Ranters' (the name a
> scandalised general public gave to these religious enthusiasts who sang at
> them on street corners). We shall sing to the accompaniment of our own
> 'scratch' band. There will a band rehearsal at?4.30pm on?Saturday?at which
> singers will also be?welcome. Music (all transcriptions / clefs?on
> request) will be provided.
>
> Finally, after the Sunday service, we shall retire back to the Strangers'
> Home for a quiet lunch and some discussion about how to continue improving
> the event for 2010!
>
> Please feel free to email or call me direct (07812 522937)?about any
> specific questions you may have (or if you would like to volunteer to help
> out at some stage).
>
> Almost forgot!!!!?? In the light of last year's "breakfast difficulties"
> we have arranged to use the church kitchen - you bring your breakfast
> along and we will cook it!? Campers' Breakfast at the church will start at
> 8.15am.
>
> All the best, and we hope to see lots of you there!!
