Tonight we celebrate the national release of Brooks' 15th
album, Guitar Player on Solid Air Records. Magnificent
guitar work, ranging from delicate dreamy riffs to fiery
finger picked Latin rhythms to stinging blues-soaked slide,
cool soulful doodles and swinging jazz,--often within the
same song--is but one aspect of Brooks' talent. His
baritone voice is just as well played; smooth and silky on
love songs, gritty and growlin' on the bluesy ones, jaunty
on reggae spiced numbers. And his quick wit brightens his
delightful concerts. A real Calvin's fave!
