August 12 The Gillette Brothers ($12 Adv/$15 Door) 8 PM

Their lifelong interest in cowboyin' led Pipp & Guy down
that trail for real. From their East Texas ranch, the
brothers continue a study of the daily toils and social
events of the early Western settlers. Those studies
have revealed the roots of Scottish and Irish music in
the historic trail songs of the cowboys and have also
shed light on the dawn of country blues. Not only
scholars of this traditional music, the Gillette Brothers
are also interpreters, writers and performers of songs
inspired by its history. Guy & Pipp are regular
performers at the Elko, Stegall and Lomax Gatherings
where they are known for their songs, spoken tales and
poetry, banjo, guitar, and bones playing---and Chuck wagon
cooking!
