Jack has reached the status of "legend" for his
indelible influence on modern American folk
music and its writers, from Suzanne Vega to
John Gorka to Nanci Griffith. History, mythology
and poetry, Celtic, traditional, and western folk
music inspirations fill Jack's 18 critically
acclaimed albums with some of the best folk songs
ever written. That he chooses to remain untouched
by the artistically-stunting commercial music
industry is homage to his integrity. Singing in
a dusty voice, his deliberate-paced and precisely
phrased lyrics reveal the power of the sound of

will also be featured in next week's Wildflower
