Wearing "Year's Best of" crowns for "Folk Album",
"Folk
Song" and "Songwriter" brings deserved national
recognition to Tim, one of Americana's finest
songwriters. Family roots are thematic in Tim's
optimistic and evocative story songs of remembrance
and in his achingly beautiful romantic songs written
with a gentle hand. Woody Guthrie's spirit is evident
in Tim's no-nonsense edgy songs of social/political
commentary, while TR Ritchie's witty observations of
daily life are recalled in Tim's down-home
ruminations. As further comparison, think of the
honesty in the voices of Ray Wylie Hubbard and Greg
Brown. Rumor has it that Jan Lucas will join in with
her marvelous voice and Mike Lindauer will accompany
on bass... icing on our cake!

Oct 20/21/22 The Austin Friends of Traditional Music
is hosting The
Austin String Band Festival this weekend! This is a
great
opportunity to hear lots of good music in one weekend,
with the big
day being Saturday, of course. This takes place at
Camp Ben
McCulloch, a 20-minute drive from downtown Austin, out
Loop 1 south
all the way 'til it becomes Hwy 45, then on 'til it
dead-ends at Hwy
1826. Go left, a few more miles, past the Hindu
Temple and then some,
and it's across the road from the Salt Lick.

Camp Ben is a lovely place, with large shade trees and
a nice
pavilion for the stage concerts. There will be a
7-band line-up on
stage plus workshops, 2 dances, picking & grinning,
primitive camping
and very good food. tHE LINEUP INCLUDES:
