Godin Guitars
1. This Canadian maker has long been recognized for the original
designs and bold innovations. Yet it has failed to attain the
appreciation it deserves.
2. Godin popularized the "synth-access" guitars and also among those
offering "hybrid" instruments that mix electric and acoustic
qualities.
3. The company is headed by Robert Godin.
4. Godin set up the laSido shop in La Petrie Quebec in the 1980's to
build replacement electric guitar necks and bodies.
5.Godin is still best known for acoustic electric guitars such as
Seagull,Norman,Simon and Patrick..etc
6. It became prominent with its innovative Acousticaster model of
1987. A telecaster size bolt on neck acoustic electric with unusual
harp shaped "sound fork" under the bridge designed to improve the
guitars response.
7. In 1994 a solid body guitar LG-x model synth-access guitar was
built to interface directly with a remote synthesizer module thats
way ahead of its time.
8.The Les Paul LGX now heads a small series of instruments,some with
piezo acoustic bridge pick-ups.
9. Godins first synth-access guitar had in fact been the Multiac.
Launched in 1993 this was a thinline nylon string electric acoustic
and it is joined in the godin line today by the Multiac Classical and
Multiac Steel.
10. In 1999 the radiator was introduced which has more classic
designs in it to attract the mainstream market.
11. In 2006 the Triumph model was launched, with a blended retro
look with contemporary design this solid body is more "standard" then
any Godin offering.
