I ordered 3 new modules before Thanksgiving, after getting assurances that they were in stock. They have not arrived, and my last 2 emails about the status were ignored. After xmas, if I still cannot get satisfaction on this, I will raise a complaint with paypal.
Welp despite the fact that an assured delivery time frame was stated and a picture of the lovely modules was posted...yet another delivery date has come and gone, empty handed. :-(

when you have 15" of snow on the ground (like today) you have to find
things to do... ;-) Actually, in all seriousness, in my typical
obsessive fashion, the guiding concept behind the Synthasonic modules
and the company was to offer the highest possible build quality, the
fastest shipping time (only one order has taken more than 24 hours to
ship), and the most thorough manuals.

Has anyone noticed that Prof. Ecoff offers 20-page manuals for his
4PoleLPFilter and 8StagePhaser on the Synthasonic site ?
Or, that Prof. Richter has made available manuals for 8 of his Wiard
modules and...9 Patch Sheet suggestions ??... what IS it with you folks
in Milwaukee ?
Why, in California the attitude would be, "Oh, nothing (and no one) is
what it appears to be... so, keep 'em guessing...more fun that way"!!

hi,
I'm happy that you found the book useful. Since moving the location of
my recording studio, I rarely get to teach the class anymore :-( but
every now and then I get a nice note from somebody who liked the book,
which makes the hundreds of hours I put into it seem worthwhile.

Hi....
it's me, the Synthasonic guy.... Sam E. I'd like to offer my *FREE*
modular synthesis book to anyone who wants it (based on the ARP 2600,
but applies to almost all modular synths). It's here:
http://www.samecoff.com/works.html
Look for
"Fundamentals of Music Technology"
You might also be interested in the copy of the ARP 2600 manual which
I painstakingly scanned eons ago...
http://www.emusic-diy.org/ArpManuals
We at Synthasonic work very diligently to provide manuals for our
modules which not only show you how to use the module, but also
teaches about modular synthesis in general. As always, I will say that
I don't pretend to be an expert at modular synthesis, but I'm more
than happy to help answer any questions I can.
Kind regards,
Sam E.

there is also a manual for the arp2600 that can be purchased on line.. i forget
where but
also i think even downloaded some place.
i'd love a manual for the cyndustries stuff. modcan has manuals for all of it
modules.. or
almost all of them...
i think a lot of it is experimenting and learning as you go and sort of having
that
refreshing naive vibe w/gear where youa re just going mad w/stuff and figuring
things
out...
but general uses for things can be found through research online and even
checking out
the clavia nord modular manual can give you some ideas on directions to take..
understanding each circuit and just focusing on a module or two at a time has
been
helpful to me
and please know i was being sarcastic about the manual comment.. i'd love a
manual just
as much as you.

Unfortunately you're right in that there are few, if any, manuals for
a modular system. I think part of this might have come from certain
manufacturers back in the day who openly scoffed at manuals and
justified not printing any in hopes of forcing the user to think,
learn and approach their system in a new way. Other reasons are
likely time and money oriented.
That said there are some books out there that can help guide you with
whatever system you have. For example there was a set of books by
Roland called "The Synthesizer" that show you some basic and advance
patch techniques. There are others, check amazon.com or Analogue
haven might have some. Other people on this forum I am sure will have
suggestions.
Another out there suggestion is to pick up a cheap Nord micro modular
1 and hack away at that, knowing that you won't accidently plug in an
incorrect voltage or whatever.

i was being completely sarcastic about the manual comment. - hint hint look for
the ;) -
i'd love a manual with each and every module with simple explanations of each
jack/knob
and a hint or two to get you started. i think it's a pain in the ass to have to
refer back to
the cyndustries site to read the module description again in hopes i can glean
some info
about things i'm just not getting.
so, er.. i guess in web 2.0 they'll have that sarcasm font worked out so it's
always clear but
i thought that's what the winking smiley face was for in the meantime. ;)
i emailed Grant a year or so ago to ask him questions about his modules (there
were a
couple on ebay i was thinking about jumping on) and how i could integrate them
w/the
modcan and he was very gracious with his answers and explanations about what i
could
do if i got ahold of those modules.. i decided to pass on the modules as they
were spendy
and someone else bought them pretty quickly anyways and i wanted more modcan
modules etc...

O.K. ...Steve, I'm laughing... and glad all of you can buy any
modular gear and intuitively understand how to begin patching it all
together.
Not sure if any of you have followed Grant Richter's recent posts on
the WIARD Yahoo Group ?
He made a point last Sunday about looking down on beginners and what
he felt about this.
I've seen only him and Peter Grenader stop what they're doing and
answer in painstaking detail a sophomoric, beginner's question, such
as I always ask.... and it really is astounding to read their
comments and suggestions.
Well, Ezra Buchla does it too but his explanations are so uber-geek
technical that... well...
My only point here is that I never could understand how modular
manufacturers expected to sell anything to newcomers when there is NO
documentation for even getting started ?
Maybe I just answred my own question ?
Merry CHRISTMAS to all and to all a good night.

yeah.. i felt relief seeing them all built and lined up there as well.
the boss delay is cool.. it has a chorus as well. a nice sound to it. its fun to
use w/the
modular. i like just adjusting the delay time by ear as it's never perfectly in
sync.. always a
few MS off here or there but it adds a nice something to the feel of a song.

Great to see a picture of those beautiful QLPGs! Seeing them at least
i know they will ship...soon.
That Boss delay looks pretty cool, especially since it has CV input
for control.

on a happier note i picked up a boss DM300 analog delay some time ago and it
sounds great
and has a CV input for delay time which works well with the modcan. all kinds of
weirdness
from subtle to totally mad.
steve-

it gets

Howdy, here's a quick Cyndustries Update!
Module Shipping Frenzy!
We have recently regained possession of all of
our Low Pass Gate and Zeroscillator and boards and
front panels and after a two week assembly marathon
I am happy to say that the Low Pass Gates are finally
about to start shipping next week along with more
Mix Six Mixers, Anything Modules, Dividers, and some
Zeroscillators.
Best Wishes!
Cynthia"

oops - I forgot about a couple of bills that need to be paid. I'm to
the point that I can't really spare more modules, but I'll have to
give these up.
I'd like $260 for the synthacon, and $410 for the dual adsr. I'll pay
shipping and paypal fees.
Gene
whoa. next week! can it be?

I'm waiting for a ZOe. I ordered in late Feb/early March 2008. I recognize that
this is not that
long by Cyndustries standards.

Hello.
New member.
I'm not waiting for anything, but I ordered a few modules right at the beginning
of
Cyndustries and waited a looong time.
I decided then not to order any more and to only recommend Cyndustries purchases
with a
caveat.
It's a shame because the module concepts and build are great!
Cynthia seems nice too.
I was always sceptical about the 'in stock, shipping now' captions on her
webpage for certain
modules.
Agreed, it would be awesome if they ship before xmas but i won't get my
hopes up.

well, i'm not holding my breath.. she told me the same thing last christmas...
i hope all the magic comes together to make it happen this year but i'm not
getting my
hopes up.
