The New England Music Scrapbook newsletter posts information mostly about new contemporary popular music and current, often club-level acts.
The NEMS newsletter's biggest concentration of readers is in the Boston area. After that, our subscribers are sprinkled throughout the Northeast and, perhaps surprisingly, across the southern tier of states: former New Englanders now residing in the South is our guess.
I (Alan Lewis) am based at Brattleboro, Vermont.
The New England Music Scrapbook newsletter circulates in three distinct ways, but we have information about the size of our readership in regards to only one of these. Judging from the e-mail responses we receive, along with the number of our subscribers, it is an educated guess that this newsletter circulates to 600 or more readers weekly: and not precisely the same people every week. With print sales often declining and with market fragmentation, it is common these days for readerships to be shrinking. Ours has grown slowly but steadily.
Most of our readers are, in one way or another, involved in the music business. All or nearly all of them are dyed-in-the-wool, enthusiastic fans of contemporary popular music.
Our Yahoo Groups home page visitors may be interested in the "View All" option, at the "Most Recent Messages" heading below, to see more of the newsletter's back issues.
