BRATTLEBORO, VT, March 15 - Since sending today's regular issue of our
newsletter and since my experiment in destructiveness, we received two
news-mails of special interest.
The message we are copying here and sending includes several items
from Boston's
MISSION OF BURMA
sent this St. Patrick's Day Weekend by our personal favorite Irishman,
Clint O'Burma.
I noticed that the release date is coming up pronto. So for the
benefit of any readers who have not yet heard about the Mission of
Burma reissues with bonus material, I thought it would be a really
good idea to send a special newsletter issue: specifically, this one.
The other item I only know about from the subject line. When I got to
this account I found that a forwarded copy of the second message has
not yet gotten here for some reason. So - going entirely on memory -
the other item is about a
TEDDY AND THE PANDAS
concert! You didn't think you would see those words strung together
here did you.
The show is well off in the month of April, so we have time to get
details out to you all if I can get a forwarded copy of the Teddy-gram
into this account by then.
Teddy and the Pandas was a terrific Boston 1960s band that had us
rocking to strong melodies. The group is probably best remembered for
singles of mid-1960s radio-friendly style. But the Pandas also put
out a decent psychedelic-era LP which is in keeping with this year's
"Boston Sound" anniversary.
DOUBLE JEOPARDY: I should warn that chances are good I will repeat
the following MoB material next regular issue and will likely say some
of the same things about the Pandas. We have readers who see our
newsletter at our Yahoo Groups home page, and many of them are likely
to be interested in one or the other or both of these news stories.
So I will probably repeat material for their benefit.
And now, here's the latest on Mission of Burma...

Hello friends,
We are pleased to announce that Matador is re-releasing the first
three Mission of Burma records: "vs." "Signals, Calls, and Marches,"
and "The Horrible Truth About Burma" on March 18 (CD and vinyl).

There 's a ridiculous amount of extras included - most notably, dvd
footage of ancient concerts and a bunch of bonus tracks. The new
masters were exquisitely overseen by Rick Harte, Mission of Burma's
original producer.
Check out this Electronic Press Kit from Matador. [the quick time
movie takes a while to load, but you'll be amply rewarded]

Some live shows with Shellac in Europe in May/June including the
Primavera Festival, Barcelona May 30
Some US dates to follow, including The Pitchfork Festival in Chicago,
July 12, where we'll be performing "vs." in its entirety.
