Slavonic Psalter   Message List

This is partly a translation question and partly about obtaining a
liturgical book, so it's probably about half on-topic...

I'm curious about the Slavonic translation of Psalm 2: "The rulers
gathered together against the Lord and His Christ." In Hebrew and in the
literal sense of the Greek it's simply "against His anointed" but of
course christologically we know "Christos here is to be understood as a
reference to Christ. The Gallican Psalter has "adversus christum eius",
the Boston Psalter has "and his Christ"... but I notice that the King
James and every other modern version translates the Hebrew text as "His
anointed."

Does the Slavonic Psalter also read "against the Lord and His Christ"?
(I'd assume so.) Is there any ancient translation that *doesn't*
translate this verse christologically?

My other question: Where can I buy a Slavonic Psalter? If it's available
in an HTML document or E-sword module, that'd be handy - but I'd like to
get a printed Psalter divided into kathismata, fit for reading.
(Electronic concordances are great, but for reading and study you can't
beat dead-tree format.) I can now slowly sound out Slavonic words and I
have a list of abbreviations; before I try to seriously study Slavonic
grammar I want to get better at reading it aloud, and it seems to me the
Psalter would be the best big block of text to practice reading :-)

Thanks in advance!

In Christ,
