Fountains of Wayne will appear on the US Ovation channel on 13th March.
Details here: http://www.ovationtv.com/the%5Fartists%5Fden/
(Wait for the Fountains of Wayne details to scroll across).
Cheers, Mark.
Hi everyone,
One of the posters over on fountainsofwayne.us has set up an archive
for Fountains of Wayne video/audio bootlegs.
If anyone has bootlegs to contribute it would be greatly appreciated.
And there may be concerts, etc already there that you don't have!
All the relevant information is contained in this thread on the fow.us
messageboard:
http://www.fountainsofwayne.us/xmb/viewthread.php?tid=1275&page=1
Cheers
Mark
Hi,
Thanks for trying to have the dvd project back on the tracks.
I also sent Dave a DVD full of great FOW stuff a loooong time ago.
Hope there'll be some more fans who will contribute to this great project.
Good luck and thanks for your time and work.
Cheers.
Samuel
G'day Sean
Thanks for that. Dave was the guy from the UK, I think I still have
his email address somewhere, I will drop him a line to see how he is
doing. I haven't heard from him for quite a while.
It is not his, nor anyone else's, fault this didn't get off the
ground, it is just one of those ideas that is really good but does
need the contribution of a number of people to make it work.
I think we need a person to co-ordinate it all (Bruce mentioned he
might be a possibility), several people to chase up material and a
heap of other people willing to offer up what they have so this can go
ahead.
So if others from this site are willing to offer their help, I guess
now is the time to put your hand up to see if we can get this project
up and running. :)
Cheers
Mark
Greetings Mark:
Thanks for checking in on this. Indeed, I sent a whole video tape to the
guy in the UK and he just disappeared. Pisser too. I sent him a shit load
of M2 stuff, including Ivy video, and a whole gang of cool stuff from 98/99.
I've got a few things, like their Soundstage performance with All American
Rejects (still have it Tivo'd even - crystal clear and stereo), and them
doing "Maureen" on Conan O'Brien. I missed the Craig Ferguson thing, but
hoping it'll get rerun over the summer.
I'd assist in the production of it, but I don't have a DVD burner. I have
several VCRs though.
Cheers,
Sean in Stockton, California.

For some reason I haven't been getting email notifications of new
messages, so I have only just read the latest postings about the DVD
project. (I have fixed my settings now!).
Basically, the DVD idea initially came from a member of this group
(who lives in the UK) and then I offered to help out. (I post mainly
on fow.us and live in Australia). Between us we made a fairly good
start to things and were able to track down a bit of stuff.
Basically it then died off because I really struggled to get the
material I needed. I asked a few times on fow.us with not much luck
and the other chap was going to ask here on UP, but I don't know how
much luck he had.
Basically I was either asking people to digitize videos and get
their files to me electronically, or to send me the actual video
tapes so I could digitize them myself. Either way I had little
response. (I guess my living in Australia didn't help either).
I did make a fairly good job (I thought) of at least compiling a
list of what video material needed to be tracked down (eg TV
appearances, promo clips, interviews, etc). So at least that could
be used as an initial working document for what had to be collected.
I would like to see the idea of a collection of DVD material
resurrected, but it would need several people to co-
ordinate/contribute the project. As well as that we need people to
be prepared to offer up what they have (on loan of course) to enable
everything to be put together. That in itself presents a problem in
that there must be plenty of people out there with FoW clips, video
material etc - but how do we get to them?
I am willing to help out as much as I can, but I don't want to run
it. As well as not having the expertise with video stuff, I simply
don't have the time any longer to devote to a project like this. I
have collected some material, some is in DVD quality, but other
stuff is lesser quality (like VCD) - which may have to suffice, as I
would assume we may not be able to get everything we want in the
highest possible quality.
If this can be turned into a a co-operative type of project it will
probably work well. If it gets left to one or two people though, who
not only have to put things together but spend a lot of time trying
to track material down, it could go down the same road as before.
Anyway, I'll leave it there for the time being and see what people
think.
Cheers everyone,
Mark
It was reported on Pollstar for one day, but has now disappeared.
I know because I was disappointed ot see the two holes in that schedule
were for Baltimore and DC.
Now they are all in question!

Squeeze is reforming for a brief US tour in August...
It was reported on a Glenn Tilbrook board that FoW is sharing the bill with them
for all
shows...7/31 through 8/14.
True?
Hey,
Glad to see Fountains of Wayne is coming to San Francisco. I work at
a hotel that is just a few blocks away. AND I have a special rate
for fans that come to town.
Call 877-854-4106 and ask for the FANtastic rate and you'll get $10
off your room rate. If you were staying on 29th or 30th of this
month, the rate for standard rooms are like $79-89* so this $10 off
would be sweet. And even better, the deluxe rooms with ceiling fans
and flat screen TVs, start at $109* so this would be a great deal.
I know i seem like spam - just excited. But I am real. You can email
me at kevin@... so I can prove it or check out the
hotel at www.hotelmarktwain.com and see how close we are to the
Great American Music Hall.
Kevin
Hotel Mark Twain
345 Taylor Street
San Francisco, CA 94102
* rates are net per room per night, single or double occupancy,
subject to 14% hotel tax and may be yielded due to higher occupancy.
Well, I was making rude comments about me...
I have a bunch of older FoW stuff that I should probably contribute...
and I have been asked to in the past... but I am too damn lazy to
dig up my old vhs stuff and then find out how to transfer it over...
etc, etc...
I'm not even sure who is in charge of it anymore.. or if there's
anything to be in charge of. I bet FoW will something together
before we do... you know.. in like another 10 years or so.
P.S. Are there any other fans of Fountains of Wayne in Utah?
I am starting to feel like I may be one of very few.... if any.
No wonder they don't do shows here.. Plus.. I know, I know...
It's UTAH!!

Someone to Love is available on iTunes.
What a GREAT song. (It has almost all the Robbie Fulks' requirements
of a FoW song - ha!)
Let the touring begin!!

I heard "Someone to Love" on Sirius this morning. It was on the Left of
