I've been using VG-99 every day (I have been at home) for a little more than a
year and
been very happy.
Now, I have no audio output. :-(
The circumstance and time when it happen was rather strange.
I will ask if anyone can think of a reason, or something I can do, or just send
it to Roland
for repair?
I record my VG-99 through an M-Box 2 interface connected to my Max OSX 1.4.11,
and I
have been happy with that. The VG has been connected by USB mainly for editing
and
storing patches and ocasionally using the VG99 as a Midi controller.
The VG 99 also has a USB Audio output. But I did not use it.
Today I heard about the 'aggregate device' feature of MacOSX ( meaning that you
should
be able to use all your connected Audio devices ( USB and Firewire connected) So
I went to
Application/Utilities/Audio MIDI Setup and defined a new aggregate device
including the
VG99 ( THe other were the M-Box 2 and a Yahama Motif ESX Rack with mLan Firewire
interface) giving me a whopping 22 input channels in the aggregate device )
Immediately after doing that, I had no output from the VG 99; There was no
output signal
from the audio jacks and there was no signal through the head phones.
I deselected the aggregate devece. Reet the computer, turned down the computer.
I dont know if the audio device driver part for a USB device can have one part
in the
installation procedure that is loaded into the device.??? Or am I just
over-suspicious do to
the strange coincidence.
I did reset the VG99 to factory defaults, it did not help.
