Lack of playing time/interest x lack of cash = Selling VG+foot
controller. They're essentially unused and mint.
Sad about it, but there it is. Will post on ebay in the next day or so
if no interest here; starting at $650 for the VG, $250 for the FC;
will package for list members at $850. Shipping extra, of course;
thanks!

speaking of midi FCs
has anyone used the FC-200 as a midi bass pedal
if memory serves it does that
curious how it was in actual usage
picked up a VG-8 to play around with the HRM sounds
and I'm really enjoying it but the one I got has a funky display
so if anyone wants to offer me a deal on a VG-8ex email me
off list I want to pick up a clean one with a good display
Was not a big succes for me - very limited and not flexibel.
I think the midi command is fixed to a certain volumelevel so no touch
sensitivity.
I ditched the VG guitar synth part long time ago and learned to play
keyboard.
That's the way for me to produce synthsounds with more control.
Guitar synts and the fc-200 are bad for playing midi synths.
The fc-200 is still very much in use for program changes and for sending
CC commands for switching fx on/off and other parameter changes.

was there something else that bugged ya?
I don't have touch sensitivity on my existing bass pedals and don't
find it bothersome
I just want to save some space in maybe trying an fc 200 as both midi
control
and bass pedals when needed

interesting, I found MIDI gtr via GR/GI/axon frustrating as well and
in response did take my basic
college music theory keyboard playing up to a higher level long ago
and agree I usually
play keyboard for most synth/samples but the non MIDI VG doesn't have
that lag/feel issue
and I'm finding it a joy to use with the limited but very nice
synthes it has

thanks for the input
anyone using it that it works for?

To make it easy to press on those stiff Roland pedals, try this. I
modified an old Midi Mitigator foot pedal once that had 10 pads as follows:
Drilled holes in the middle of the existing useless membrane touch pedals
and installed some small momentary micro switches.
This could work well with those hard to push Roland switches. Just wire the
small switch in parallel with the existing one. this produces a very light
touch. The switches I used had a small threaded shaft. (Alcoswitch
MSP105F). There are lots of other options depending on the pressure you
want.
I was going to use small pads on the switches but decided to leave the
shafts exposed. I can easily feel the switch with my foot with shoes on of
course :) I don't recommend you tear into your equipment unless you are
confident and determined to improve an original design and void any
warrantees. I personally will sacrifice an affordable/replaceable item to
make it more useful and enjoyable to use. I'm not a collector, I'm a user
that likes to improve mouse traps ;)

Not really, if you want to do this live because there is no one else to
play the bass parts it is an option.
But it's a gadget not a real instrument controller.
And there is the limitation of the FC-200 - 13 pedals/notes to play and
that's it.

I'm working with a group that requires a multi-amp set up using a
Motion 200S keyboard amp, an SWR bass rig and Rivera Knucklehead with
a 2x12 bottom. I've been splitting the A Guitar and B Guitar output
hard L & R to the VG's Mix output, sending the mono bass and mono
guitar to their prospective rigs,
Now for my "typical" VG-99 A/B guitar set-up, I want to output the A
guitar in stereo to the keyboard amp and the "B" guitar (VG bass)
mono to the SWR rig. What is the most effective way of doing this?
I can send the stereo A guitar out via the VG's Mix Output but can't
get a good Mono out to the SWR rig. I tried the Sub Out, but the LR
to bass amp input didn't cut it. Do I need a direct box to
compensate for the Subs XLR output?
Is it possible to send the bass out through the VG-99's Guitar
Direct Out?
David I am so sorry to see this, but I understand.
Its a great deal for anyone out there in the market.
Have a great new year my friend.

I walk past a pawn shop every day, and this week I noticed a handful
of guitars in the window that I'd actually want -- if I could afford
one. A nice red Squier Tele with rosewood board and fat frets for
$150. A couple Ibanez screamers.
Good luck, stay warm, and hunker down till things turn 'round. Best
wishes to all of us,
