Bobby Sanabria
Afro-Cuban Dream - Live & In Clave!!!
CD (Arabesque AJ0149), Released 2000;
Editor's Pick:
Bobby Sanabria returns with another beautifully crafted and very
enjoyable Latin jazz release that encompasses elements of Afro-Cuban
folklore and big-band dance orchestras. This was recorded live from
the famed Birdland club in New York City.
Mr. Sanabria is a master percussionist, and he shines here -- listen
to him go nuts on the explosive bebop "Mosscode." Special guest,
Cuban conguero Candido Camero, grabs the spotlight on the near 14
minute "Manteca." (BP, 2000-06-24)
