CORPUS CHRSITI - It's been 11 years now since Tejano singing star
Selena Quintanilla was killed shot an killed. Her memory continues
to draw people to Corpus Christi.
More than a decade later Selena's music is still consistently played
on radio stations because her songs are as popular as ever.
"They still play it a lot in El Paso, Texas...it's still very big
over there," said DJ Mike from KXTM 93.5.
Michael Fino from El Paso, Texas, grew up watching Selena perform
and wanted to pay tribute to the Tejano legend. He said, "I just
love her music...she has really good music and like I said I grew up
with her."
Candy Campos brought her family from Lardeo, Texas for a first time
visit of the Selena Memorial. Campos is proud of being a loyal
Selena fan.
"I collect the CDs, pictures and when she comes out in a magazine I
cut it out," said Campos. "She was a humble person so everybody like
her that's why." These fans said they'll continue to listen to her
music and remember the singer who touched their lives.
