not a problem, but i say why wait? i'd have to say that there is a definite
"dead" feel to alot of the fests, especially the commercialized bonnaroo
(way to many folks for me to be comfortable) we stick to the places that
get 2 to 5k people, and we (my wife and i don't agree on all the stuff we
listen to) most definitely agree on a style that was known for a little
while as hillbilly disco, fiddles, banjos, mandolins, electric guitars,
guests sittin in and improvising jams.. and to hear all the different
influences..
speaking of fests (HA) we do a thing called bnp's, which basically means, we
offer up current and past shows to folks for the cost of a couple envelopes
and return shipping of cd's, so basically you can find alot of great live
shows for about a 1.20 for a 2cd show. our list of music can be found here:
http://db.etree.org/helen
(it takes a few minutes to load, we've got over 500 shows of all kinds)
it's a great way to get your music heard, the folks that trade live shows
are always looking for different grooves to spread.
we should be getting copies of this weekend's Recipe shows within the week
and will be offering them up on the site if you would be interested let me
know..
btw,, i loved the dear prudence!
be well

Hey Mr. Oh Yeah!
Thanks for the tips on festivals. That is exactly the kind of thing I want
to do with Von
Cello. I noticed that those festivals seem to be Dead influenced jam
festivals. I always
thought I could fit in well at those kind of venues, because I can jam like
the Dead, but
I do it on cello, which puts a new spin on a great tried and true concept.
The next CD is going to have a lot more jamming on it, including a 7 minute
cover of The
Other One that is really rocking. So I think it would probably be best to
wait until the
new CD comes out and then send that to the festivals. That would put us out
about another
two months. By then, we will probably be too late for most festivals this
summer, which
really stinks. But we should be in a good position for next year.
Please keep the suggestions coming. And let me know how things go at the
festivals you
attend.

P.S. I wish the best to you and your wife.
