..welcome to the Vonda Shepard Fan Club! This is
an extension of the Official Vonda Shepard Web Site
located at <a href=http://www.vesperalley.com
target=new>http://www.vesperalley.com</a><br><br>Fans can use
this area to post questions to the bulletin board and
chat -- hopefully with Vonda! She's done on-line chats
before and what better place to do one -- inside her
very own fan club.<br><br>If you need a topic to chat
or debate, here goes:<br><br>Vonda is working on her
next solo album, but she doesn't have a title for it.
How do you suggest she titles her next album?
just love listening to the Ally McBeal
soundtrack! Vonda Shepard's voice makes the old songs more
likeable (unlike the original, it's rather sleepy...). I
hope they would make another volume (volume 2) of the
Ally McBeal soundtrack 'coz there are still so many
wonderful songs in the TV series that I would like to be
included in the album.
ell, it depends on what type of songs that she's going to do in the album but
since you're asking for suggestions , I think the title "Just the way I like
it" would be a good title.
ast Sunday 20/12/98 I saw Vonda at the Shepherds
Bush Empire London. She was Superb !!! Like Many I
went along for The"Ally" connection but Vonda as a
performer in her own right is outstanding. The show was
warm, informal and really showed off her varied talents but best
of all that wonderful voice and warm personality.
Having now obtained most of her work I become a bigger
fan each day.<br>Come back to london soon Vonda we
need real performers like you !
'm also a UK Vonda fan (N.Ireland in fact) and I
was wondering if you have her previous albums (
"Vonda Shepard", "The Radical Light" and "It's Good,
Eve")and if so how did you purchase them. i tried to buy
one from CD NOW but it worked out too expensive with
postage and also wouldn't arrive for over a
month.<br>XANDER82517
know what u mean re CD Now ! fortunately I had
a friend who wnt xmas shopping in Dallas and she
got them for me. Sorry I can't help. If u just want
to order one I would suggest It's Good Eve as being
marginally better but they're both excellent. Radical light
has a much slower more soulful version of Searchin'
My Soul - which throws u a bit when u first hear it
and also the fabulous 100 tears away but of the two
go for It's good eve. Hey what about a uk branch of
the Vonda Fan club !!! happy new year
haven't heard anyone mention this, but Vonda
sings on and arranges vocals on several tracks on Julia
Fordham's CD Falling Forward. Particularly on "Hope Prayer
& Time" you can hear Vonda and feel her influence
on the project. Thought you might want to know. What
a great song!
oes anyone know about Vondas new CD? I heard rumors that it was going to be out
in March or April but it was just a rumor, so please!!!!! I really want to know
i everyone,<br><br>just wanted to ask whether
anyone is aware of MIDI files to songs by Vonda Shepard?
I could not find anything! I am also extremely
interested in sheet music to her songs. (BTW I added some
links to pages related to Vonda Shepard; among them a
page offering the sheet music to "Searchin' my
Soul".)<br><br>Then there was this question for a title of her new
CD. OK, so here are my suggestions (based on the fact
that the songs were written before her TV appearance):
"Before the Storm", "Smelling a Storm", "Close to the
Unknown", "Returning to the Lost Paradise", "Returning to
Maryland", "It's fine, Adam" (the last one is a joke! :).
Umm, or something related to Ally McBeal: "Close up",
"Make up your Mind", "Unshooted Songs", "Songs without
Make-up", "Undressed Songs" (OK, forget the last
one.)<br>In fact it's quite silly to search for a title
without knowing anything about the contents. Actually I
think the title "It's good, Eve" is very close to the
songs "Like a Hemisphere" and "Maryland". Choosing a
title which is related to some of the songs is probably
the best idea anyway. <br><br>Greetings<br><br>Martin

i All,<br> I've not been visiting as much as I
should, and would like to change that. I just sent out a
recruiting tape to someone on another list, and if she
enjoys the music as much as I do I hope to get her to
join this club as well to chat. There's 30 of us, and
even a few would make for a great chat.<br>I just
wanted to get the idea going, and will try to check the
bulletin board daily from now on. I know I'm looking
forward to the new CD to see how her success is reflected
in her music.
ell, living in germany I had about the same
problems getting CDs of Vonda Shepard as XANDER. Actually
I bought her previous albums all at
<a href=http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ts/artist-glance/146381/.
target=new>http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ts/artist-glance/146381/.</a>
Amazon.com is usually cheaper (including shipping
costs) than CD shops in germany (with the exception of
very well selling mainstream pop).<br><br>I am highly
recommending "It's Good, Eve". Though it is very different
from the soundtrack to Ally McBeal, it's the only
album with the kind of music Vonda Shepard has been
writing in recent years I guess. <br><br>Hope that
helps<br><br>Martin Kraus
he has released 4 CD's 1989's Vonda Shepard, 1992's Radical Light, 1996's It's
Good Eve, and 1998's Songs from Ally McBeal.<br><br> They all are really good
he thought of a new CD from Vonda is definately an exciting thought - when will
we know the release date !!!. I know I've said this before but what about coming
back to london !!!
i,<br><br>does anyone know whether Michael
Landau does contribute to the new album of Vonda
Shepard? Maybe as producer or guitar player? Or even as
co-author of some songs?<br>Well, probably I have to wait
and see...<br><br>Greetings<br><br>Martin
here were 2 or 3 girls taking pictures for about
15 minutes, when Vonda was in London.<br>Is there
any way of getting those photos?<br>I would love to
have at list 1 of them, you know... just to keep it
with my memories of that great show! (London 20/12/98)
<br>Can anyone can help me? Thanks!!!
i is it true that the version of searchin my
soul on the ally mcbeal opening is not the same as the
one on the album the radical light? i heard bits &
pieces about 2 yrs. ago and it was nothing like the
first record, but i dont remember that particular song.
does anyone know? moepayne
ey Vonda Fans...be sure to look for the
Australian CD single of "Searchin' My Soul"! There's a
really cool Vonda cover of a Beegees song called "I
Started A Joke" on there. I've never heard the Beegees
sing it, but it's a neat ballad with some interesting
lyrics. I bought mine at Borders but I think Music
Boulevard and Amazon.com carry it.
Searchin my Soul" on "The Radical Light" album is
different to the version for Ally McBeal. There is a nice
review of both CDs, see
<a href=http://www.audiophilia.com/software/dm5.htm
target=new>http://www.audiophilia.com/software/dm5.htm</a> <br>I think I agree
with it about the differences
between the two versions of this song.<br>You might have
listened to her third album "It's Good, Eve" two years ago
(the first is called "Vonda Shepard"; "The Radical
Light" is the second).<br><br>Martin :)
uten Tag Martin auf Deutchland-thank you for
your reply and review info. i've only heard her first
cd , but what i heard of the radical light was very
different so i didnt buy it. if you can find the video for
the song don't cry ilene it's worth it.
