Hey, it's your old pal Jim Testa. And Lord knows I don't beg anybody to come to my shows all that often. I didn't even bother you when I played Maxwell's last weekend.
But this is different.
Legendary Minneapolis music journalist Jim Walsh (he wrote that oral history of the Replacements) also performs as a folk performer under the name The Mad Ripple. He is bringing his very own hootenanny to NYC for a 7 day residency, and he's asked me to kick off the show on Saturday, July 19.
Also performing that night will be Kraig Johnson (of the Jayhawks and Run Westy Run) and Brenda Kahn. Jim Walsh aka The Mad Ripple will headline.
I go on at 7 pm and it's FREE. Please try to come to this show!!!
SATURDAY, JULY 19 -- Banjo Jim's, 700 E 9th St at Ave C, 7 pm, free, 21+
