Re: [Weird Al Yankovic Fan Club] Re:Hey look, a post that is not spam!

I'm here, too. I liked PH and went to see 2 concerts (Peoria and Arnold Park). I
really enjoyed Hardware store. I think it took a tremendous amount of effort to
make it happen, but it wasn't a concert type song. Ebay got a lot of attention.
We still get requests for it on WTND and I enjoyed the fact that fans could sing
along with it and have about as much fun doing it at a concert or just sitting
in their cars in traffic. (J/k) I wish Al had been able to get around Eminem,
but I am once again reminded why I respect Al and the band when he ASKS
PERMISSION before doing his thing. The CD could have done much better in sales
if certain individuals had not skanked a copy and put it in share sites.
However, that said..I have noticed that many people who heard it in Limewire or
whatever, also BOUGHT the CD. So, the argument is probably more that he should
have had a video. I would have loved a Hardware store or Ebay video, myself. No
artist has ever hit a homerun out of the park with every album or every song, so
there's no reason to be jumping Al's (insert bad word here). He has a lot of
great tunage on each album, so I think there's something for everyone.
Jon has not been really active with the wierdal site for awhile. Both of his
dogs passed away this year and he now has a new poopy named Pepper. I hope
things are going well for Al in the studio. It shouldn't be long before the
insanity starts again.
take care,

Is anybody still on this group? I admit I haven't been following up on Al as much as I used to. Any news of a new album coming out? I'm going to criticize...

Oops! I was a little too quick with the "Send" button - didn't finish my thought here: I loved the music of "Genius in France," great homage to Zappa, but did...
