Restraining Orders Out of Control

One day in December of 2005, Colleen Nestler came to Santa Fe County District
Court in New Mexico with a bizarre seven-page typed statement and requested a
domestic-abuse restraining order against late-night TV host David Letterman. She
stated, under oath, that Letterman seriously abused her by causing her
bankruptcy, mental cruelty, and sleep deprivation since 1994. Nestler also
alleged that he sent her secret signals “in code words” through his television
program for many years and that he “responded to my thoughts of love” by
expressing that he wanted to marry her.
Judge Daniel Sanchez issued a restraining order against Letterman based on those
allegations. By doing so, it put Letterman on a national list of domestic
abusers, gave him a criminal record, took away several of his constitutionally
protected rights, and subjected him to criminal prosecution if he contacted
Nestler directly or indirectly, or possessed a firearm.
Letterman had never met Colleen Nestler, and this all happened without his
knowledge. Nonetheless, she requested that the order include an injunction
requiring him not to “think of me, and release me from his mental harassment and
hammering.” Asked to explain why he had issued a restraining order on the basis
of such an unusual complaint, Judge Sanchez answered that Nestler had filled out
the restraining-order request form correctly. After much national ridicule, the
judge finally dismissed the order against Letterman. Those who don’t have a TV
program and deep pockets are rarely so fortunate.
Is This American Justice?
Letterman’s experience is replicated in state courts around the country
thousands of times daily. Consider what happened to Todd, whose estranged wife
went to court secretly and obtained a restraining order against him. She swore
that three men dressed in purple Fathers for Justice camouflage uniforms broke
into her apartment, pushed her violently onto her couch, choked her severely,
and threatened her, telling her that she better not go back to court. She
complained that these were agents of the husband, as he belonged to that group.
She did not call the police, but decided to go to work. Later she collapsed near
the entrance of a hospital emergency room in a dramatic flourish.
As Todd’s lawyer, I provided evidence that her story was as phony as the one
about David Letterman. The wife lived in a large apartment building on a main
road with a busy lobby and a nosy superintendent across the hall from her.
However, no one saw or heard the three strangely dressed intruders enter or
leave during rush hour. The hospital records showed no bruises or evidence of
physical assault. The court vacated the order against Todd.
Courts are easily manipulated by those pretending to seek protection from abuse
because the political climate reinforces that men are abusers, and there is no
penalty for false claims. Thus, they embolden applicants to use them for
ulterior motives, such as to gain an advantage in divorce, to get custody of
children easily without a family court hearing, or as a quick eviction process.
Sometimes the motive is revenge or worse. For example, an order was issued
against Brendan, father of two daughters, because he brought flowers to his
child’s home for her 10th birthday right after he sought enforcement of a
custody order that the mother was routinely violating. Brendan was literally
accused of “sneaking” into the yard to deliver flowers, nothing more, yet a
restraining order was filed against him. This order was later vacated by a
court.
An applicant can get a domestic-abuse restraining order for just about any
reason. A report from an organization called Respecting Accuracy in Domestic
Abuse Reporting (RADAR) suggests that it is as easy to obtain a restraining
order as a hunting or fishing license. You fill out the forms and tell the judge
you are afraid, and you get an order almost automatically. RADAR states: “The
law defines almost any interpersonal maladjustment as ‘domestic violence,’ the
courts then establish procedures to expedite the issuance of these orders.”
The restraining-order laws of the several states are remarkably similar in their
wording, as though an invisible hand were guiding them. They allow a woman to
come to court secretly and claim that she feels fearful of “abuse” from a family
member or person she lives with. The accused person is not there, and there is
no requirement to notify him. There are no traditional rules of evidence, no
opportunity for cross examination, no burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt,
no jury, nor even a necessity to have a story that makes sense.
The definition of “abuse” set forth in these state laws is always subjective,
rather than requiring an injury or genuine threat. They all include a clause
that expands abuse to include “fear of harm,” often including even “emotional
harm.” Courts routinely issue orders on sworn statements like, “I just don’t
know what he may do,” or, “he has a long history of verbal and emotional abuse.”
A week after the initial secret hearing, a “return” hearing is held, where the
defendant gets to tell his side of the story. He is usually allowed to present
evidence and testimony, but it is often difficult to assemble needed documents
and witnesses in that short period. Most of the temporary orders are extended
for a year, regardless of the evidence, alibi, or witnesses offered.
To some judges, evidence is irrelevant; they just issue orders. Professor
Stephen Baskerville, in his book Taken Into Custody, quotes Judge Richard
Russell of Ocean City, New Jersey, at a restraining-order training seminar:

Throw him out on the street, give him the clothes on his back and tell him, “See
ya around.”... The woman needs this protection because the statute granted her
that protection.... They have declared domestic violence to be an evil in our
society. So we don’t have to worry about the rights. Grant every order. That is
the safest thing to do.

My client Mr. L’s experience is a perfect example of this. I filed a motion to
vacate the restraining order his ex-wife had against him, and she filed one to
extend it, so the judge held a hearing to consider both motions — sort of. Here
is the pertinent part of the actual transcript of the hearing to vacate the
order:

Mr. Hession: Can you please state your name and your address for the record?
[The Court argues with counsel as to whether Mr. L can testify.]
The Court: I don’t believe I need to hear any evidence from your client. I’m
going to deny your request to vacate the restraining order.

The hearing on whether to extend the order was no better:

The Court: Mrs. L_____, do you remain fearful of your husband?
Mrs. L_____: Yes. [Weeping]
The Court: Thank you.

The judge then extended the restraining order for a year, without Mr. L uttering
his name on the witness stand, and with one generalized question to the wife
about “fear.” Judges who conduct hearings like this violate their oath to apply
the law impartially and encourage the filing a false complaints — which is an
enormous problem.
According to professor of accountancy Benjamin P. Foster, Ph.D, CPA, CMA, of the
4,796 emergency protective-order petitions issued in West Virginia in 2006, an
estimated 80.6 percent “are false or unnecessary.” Foster acknowledges the
duplicitous nature of many of the complaints: “In divorce and child custody
cases, a party generally obtains favorable treatment when the other party has
engaged in domestic violence.” In West Virginia, one incident of domestic
violence, “which includes ‘reasonable apprehension of physical harm’ and
‘creating fear of physical harm by harassment, psychological abuse,’... could
impact the Parenting plan approved by the Family Court.” On the other hand, a
“parent must have repeatedly made fraudulent reports of domestic violence or
child abuse” to lose favor with a court. (Emphasis added.) Just the
“identifiable costs” — the cost for the state, not the victims — for these false
reports was in
  excess of $18,200,000 in 2006.
Drastic Punishment
Falsely issued restraining orders are of great concern because the punishment
that is meted out to defendants is so drastic. After an initial secret
restraining order is issued, the clerk faxes it to the local police, who then
serve it on the defendant. Since most orders contain a “no contact” provision,
the first thing the police do is remove the man from his home, with little more
than the shirt on his back, just as Judge Richard Russell urged in his judicial
training. Utterly taken by surprise, the man usually has no idea that the
hearing took place, that the order was granted, or what he may have done to
deserve it. The police are rarely sympathetic.
Most restraining orders require that the defendant may not contact the plaintiff
directly or indirectly or get within some distance, usually 100 yards, of the
alleged “victim.” Often, wives place the children as “co-victims” on these
orders, so the defendant cannot contact his children either. “No contact” means
no phone calls, cards, letters, or even incidentally running into the person.
No reconciliation is possible once an order is issued because any contact is a
crime and subjects the violator to immediate arrest and jail. Even indirect
contact is a crime, such as asking a relative to help work things out. Many men
have sent flowers to a spouse or a birthday card to a child, only to end up in
prison. Once an order is in place, the state becomes the father in the family,
pushing out the real one.
Most district attorneys, prompted by feminist political pressure, have a
“no-drop” policy on prosecuting all violations of restraining orders, no matter
how minor. Joseph found that out the hard way. His wife obtained a restraining
order after telling the judge he had kicked a plastic cooler and slammed the
door while leaving his house. She omitted the part about telling him she had
found another man.
No abuse or threat had occurred, but an order was issued against Joseph anyway.
While it was in place, the wife made 14 false criminal complaints about
violations of the order, which resulted in some arrests. I had to go to court
with Joseph again and again, and we somehow managed to beat every case. Only a
dysfunctional system allows a complainant to continue to make such false
allegations without any accountability whatsoever.
Restraining orders also interfere with Second Amendment rights. Each state’s
laws require that a defendant surrender all guns and ammunition, and violation
of this provision is not only a state crime, but a federal one, under the
Violence Against Women Act of 1994.
“Mike” was an Air Force officer in charge of a military police unit on base.
When his ex-wife got a restraining order against him, he lost his right to carry
a weapon and had to take a desk job. He had custody of their child, which the
mother resented. She came to a child’s doctor appointment and attempted to
create an incident, but was unsuccessful. However, the mother went to the local
police to help her get an order. She told the police that there was no abuse and
no history of abuse, so they wouldn’t get involved. She then went to the court
in the adjoining state where she lived and claimed that there was abuse, and
obtained a restraining order. Then, to cover her tracks, she went back to the
police in the husband’s state and requested that they change her statement about
no abuse. Eventually, he was able to remove the order, after hiring an expensive
lawyer in the wife’s state.
Many police officers and military personnel who carry firearms are not so lucky,
and have had careers permanently ruined by false allegations on restraining
orders. In many places, once an order issues, even if it is eventually vacated,
it is often impossible to get a gun license back.
Restraining orders especially impact the children. These orders are frequently
used as a quick and dirty custody hearing, without the trouble of going to
family court. In one minute, the father can lose the right to see his children
for a year or longer. Children often get used as pawns in these situations,
without any rebuke from a judge. While judges certainly know that falsely
obtained orders are pervasive, they care little for the well-being of the
children who are harmed by losing their father for long periods. The children
often have no understanding of why they are being kept from their father because
the father cannot even speak to them.
If dad works from home, as more people are now doing, additional problems arise.
Under any order, he will be summarily evicted, and thus lose access to phones,
business records, and equipment, without recourse. As a RADAR report puts it:
“The man, now homeless and distraught, has only a few days to find a lawyer and
prepare a defense.” When a home business is involved, he now cannot earn income,
although he may be ordered to pay child support, needs alternate living
quarters, and may have had his bank account emptied by his wife.
The case of Bob, who worked from home, shows the misuse of orders against
self-employed persons. His wife got a restraining order against him, based on “a
long history of verbal and emotional abuse,” which is not a legal basis for an
order. After it was issued, Bob had to leave the home he owned prior to his
marriage, in which he had his home-based business. Eventually, he was allowed to
do business in one half of the home, while his wife and children lived in the
other half. Despite her alleged “fear,” the wife came within a few feet of Bob
on a regular basis. Meanwhile, the disruption of his business, the stress
involved, and support payments destroyed him financially. He could not pay the
huge child and spousal support assessments ordered by the court, which totaled
triple his net income, and he was jailed twice. His business suffered, and he
has still not recovered from the experience.
Skewed View of Abuse
The domestic-abuse industry has become a multi-billion dollar business during
the last three decades, fueled by large influxes of government money and
bolstered by media hysteria about abuse. Retired Massachusetts Judge Milton
Raphaelson has stated, however, that there is not an epidemic of domestic
violence, but rather an epidemic of hysteria about domestic violence.
State restraining-order laws suddenly sprang up in every state during the 1970s,
at the insistence of radical feminist groups who had gained political
ascendency. Family abuse was indeed a problem. However, the feminists identified
the problem wrongly and proposed a solution that made it worse.
Building on the sensationalism of certain well-publicized cases, feminists built
an “identity politics” view of abuse. It is true that some men still ascribed to
the chauvinist notion that women were chattel and could be maltreated with
impunity, but the feminists exploited that fact and got laws that harmed, not
just men, but families. They declared that men were abusers and women were
victims. Abused women were shown off at legislative hearings to manipulate the
mostly male legislators into passing restraining-order laws.
For the first time, we now have laws that penalize people before they are proven
to be criminals, for something they only might do. The laws are paradigms of
pragmatism over principle, as they jettison centuries of highly developed legal
theory and substitute a subjective and weak new legal framework which allows
baseless allegations, while making it very difficult to defend against them.
They allow a woman to claim “fear” of abuse, even if none has happened, leading
to a classic “he said, she said,” where she holds all the cards.
While many persons involved in passing these laws may have been well-meaning,
thinking they were going to help stop abuse, the unintended (or perhaps
intended) consequences have been to change the very fabric of the legal system,
and to decimate millions of families. In my experience, little abuse has been
prevented by these laws. Stats back this up. For example, in West Virginia
between 1981 and 1992, “domestic violence claims increased 466% from 1,065 to
6,029” and in Puerto Rico after a comprehensive domestic violence law was
instituted in 1989, violence claims “did not decline or level off,” according to
Professor Foster.
Answer to Domestic Violence?
Domestic-abuse restraining orders came about because a certain number of abusers
really do assault and batter their partners. Scores of studies have attempted to
understand the problem and find practical solutions, but domestic-abuse
restraining orders are a flawed solution that has made the problem worse.
First, they have identified the wrong culprit. Women commit abuse more than men
do. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports, “In
nonreciprocally violent relationships, women were the perpetrators in more than
70 percent of the cases. Reciprocity was associated with more frequent violence
among women, but not men.” Psychologist John Archer reviewed hundreds of studies
and concluded, “Women were slightly more likely than men to use one or more acts
of physical aggression and to use such acts more frequently.” While men are more
often the victims of abuse, women are injured more often and more severely than
men. Moreover, about two-thirds of the reported cases are minor, such as
throwing a pillow.
Has anyone vilified Hillary Clinton for throwing household objects at Bill, or
singer Amy Winehouse for using her husband as a “punch bag”? We are desensitized
to violence against men. In domestic arrest situations, it is almost always the
man who is arrested, even if he is the only one injured. None of this is to
justify abuse by anyone, only to show the fallacy of focusing solely on the
abuse of women. Such unequal application of the law has likely led to more
trauma and abuse than it purports to prevent, as well as destroyed respect for
the system among fair-minded persons.
Whenever lawmakers respond to political pressure, a bad law is the usual result.
Law has the properly limited purpose of insuring restitution to victims of those
who intrude on the person or property of others. It has never been preventative,
as domestic-abuse restraining-order laws seek to be, nor should it be. If true
abuse does occur — a relative or non-relative threatens to batter or kill you or
actually does physically attack — you are already able to make a criminal
complaint for assault (which is defined as a threat to batter) and battery. And
a criminal restraining order will likely be set in place. These new
restraining-order laws seek to prevent crime by identifying persons who may
commit one, and stop it before it happens. However, this is entirely
speculative, and cannot identify perpetrators with any reliability.
In our imperfect world, we settle for an imperfect system that uses fear of
punishment, rather than preemption, as its primary deterrent, but look at the
alternative. With unjust restraining-order laws, we are creating a legal system
that victimizes large groups of innocent people. We need to develop a better
system, before we completely lose control of the present one. Thomas Reed,
Speaker of the House of Representatives in the late 19th century, said, “One of
the greatest delusions in the world is the hope that the evils in this world are
to be cured by legislation.” Domestic-abuse restraining-order laws are a vain
and delusional attempt to do so, and we need to eliminate them.
 




Violence Against Women Act
Nothing illustrates the political tablet upon which domestic restraining orders
are written better than the federal Violence Against Women Act of 1994, passed
during the Clinton presidency. It took a bad system and made it worse by
providing federal money to certain favored programs that foment more dissension
between the sexes.
The act was designed to create a federal effort to address violence against
women by providing uniform definitions of abuse and providing funds for victim
advocates, women’s shelters, and counseling. It also instructs and enlists local
police in the effort to combat domestic violence and make more arrests, and it
coordinates interstate enforcement efforts of abuse-protection orders.
The act is discriminatory on its face, since it gives a political, legal, and
financial advantage to women in family court matters. As the rantings of Judge
Richard Russell in his judicial training seminar about restraining orders
reveal, judges are certainly affected by the laws and the legal culture. Police
almost always arrest men in any domestic altercation, even if the man is the
only injured party.
Several new versions of the act have been passed in the intervening years. The
website of the Family Violence Prevention Fund contains the following statement
about the 2005 version of the act:

The Violence Against Women Act of 2005 contains groundbreaking new initiatives
to help children exposed to violence, train health care providers to support
victims of abuse, encourage men to teach the next generation that violence is
wrong, and provide crisis services for victims of rape and sexual assault.

We used to have a much better program that was far more effective in preventing
and treating violence against women. It was called the family.

You will find hundreds of laws that address the concept of conspiracy to commit
SMALL crimes.
Every crime that involves more than one person results from a conpiracy.
Totalitarianism cannot be implemented without conpiracy.
It is not possible to assert that the biggest crimes do not involve
conspiracies.
The existance of conspiracies has been proven so many times that it is beyond
debate.
No honest, intelligent person can fail to see this.
Behind the public ignorance is a well orchestrated campaign of obfuscation;
which is controlled by those who have a vested interest in hiding conspiarcy.
 

Conspiracies are not formed to promote ideologies.
Conspiracies are formed to gain power and money.
Ideologies are the bait for the dupes.
Most people just want to be free.
Yet most governments are totalitarian.
 
The person, who knows about a conspiracy is someone,
who knows that this is not an accident.
 
The only other alternative is the "accidental theory"

    some people just accidentally become dictators over all of the other people,
    who just want to be free.

    these dictators never DID anything to gain the power that they wield.

Government "authorized" ways to celebrate your freedoms this 4th of July

Note: For many people the 4th of July is the only day of the year,
when there will be a thought about defending freedom,
or about American Independence.
Take advantage of the fact that you have a modicum of attention.
PLEASE PASS THIS MESSAGE ON.

As we go out to celebrate our freedom this 4th of July,
let's go over a few things to make your celebration a success.
 
Most importantly: You must keep all of your thoughts, and words, about defending
freedom,
and American Independence, IN THE PAST.
Just wave that plastic American flag made by political slaves in Communist
China. You don't want to seem un-American do you?
You must not talk about the fact that we are LOSING our American Independence
TODAY to sovereignty destroying international forces like the United Nations,
the World Trade Organization, and the creation of regional government through
"trade treaties".

If you say the Pledge of Allegiance
make sure that you use the new government approved version.

Have your papers ready as you approach the holiday police checkpoints.

 
Do not claim that freedom of speech gives you the right to wear a Tee-shirt that
the government doesn't like.
They can put you in jail.
 

Tidy up you house before you leave in case it is searched while you are out.
You used to have the right to freedom from search unless a search warrant is
issued. Now the police can come into your home, and take whatever they want, and
not tell you until 2 weeks later, if they tell you at all.
They don't even have to knock on the door before they barge in.

Don't use any illegal fireworks in your 4th Celebration. It is for your own
safety. And the founding father's implemented a government to protect you from
yourselves. Didn't they? Besides, fireworks are explosive devices and you might
be considered a terrorist with weapons of mass destruction.  And although the
government can't find any in Iraq, you can rest assured they will find them in
your car trunk.  But don't worry, getting arrested, imprisoned indefinitely
without formal charges, and a 5 year wait before the secret tribunal trial per
the Patriot Act is a breeze.  It's that secret summary execution that should
make you nervous.

Make sure you are buckled up in your seat belts, there will be roadblocks and
checkpoints to make sure you comply. It is for the children. Have your papers
ready as you approach the holiday police checkpoints.

If you are an airline employee, lighten up for the holiday, you can always look
for a job tomorrow. Maybe you could transfer over to a Federal Airport Security
Screener job. 
Big demand for those jobs and you don't have to be smart.

If you are a Haliburton employee, then celebrate:
You probably have a raise coming from the Iraqi contract windfall.

If celebrating on any public property,
make no mention of religious ideals. 
Government is god there.
You will be apprehended.
ALSO, do not hold any religious observances in "your home"
without checking with the zoning administration,
to see if "your home" is properly zoned for church activities.
ALSO by careful not to violate any ordinances against "group  assembly"
regardless of your constitutional right to "peaceble assemble".
Do not put up any patriotic signs in front of "your home"
without checking with the zoning administration,
to see if "your home" is properly zoned for billboards.
The term "your home" is used to refer;
not only to homes that are rented on a monthly basis,
from another subject; but also to homes that are rented on a yearly
basis, directly from the government agent, in property tax division of your
county.   
If you make any improvements,
in preparation for your fully government authorized gathering,
make sure that you get permission  from the owner of  "your home".
The correct government agent, to grant this permission,
will be in the "building permits" section.


Don't criticize the President, or other government officials;
you might be in violation of the Patriot Act and considered a possible
terrorist.

Don't mention the Constitution in any district court,
or you could be held in contempt.
 
If your children get out of line this holiday,
do not discipline them,
or they may be kidnapped by the Dept. of Social Services
and held hostage until you sign a confession,
receive approved psychological therapy,
and are deemed acceptable.

Show compassion this Independence Day by bringing an illegal immigrant to your
celebration, or by hugging a tree.

If an election is occurring in your locality within the next 90 days, do not
talk about or publicly support any candidate, as that is no longer lawful. Keep
your mouth shut.

If an officer asks to search your vehicle at the "seat belt" checks, do not be
belligerent and demand a search warrant. 
Standing up for your fourth amendment rights is anti-social and not in tune with
the new American way. 
Are you with Al Quada or something?
 
Do not get upset when the searching officer will not help you pick up your
belongings that he has strewn all over the highway as he searched your vehicle. 
It is not in his job description
and complaining will get you charged with obstructing justice.

Keep your guns at home. 
You are not going hunting and besides,
what on earth do guns have to do with American Independence? 
Better yet, turn your guns into the authorities to let them know that you are a
true patriotic American.
You still have the right to carry a gun if you have a license,
but that will soon be gone if the United Nations passes their measure making
carrying a gun illegal.
 
Better yet, just STAY at home.
BUT do not assume that you are safe,
because you are at home.
If a government bureaucrat shows up at your home,
he will probably be flashing a badge at you.
This makes him look like a constitutional law enforcement officer.
He may even be armed.
Do not ask to see a warrant,
and then tell him to leave if he does not have one.
They will put a siege around your house.
If you do not come out soon enough,
they may invade, with guns drawn,
or even set your house on fire.

You used to have the right to privacy.
Now they have cameras everywhere watching you.
If celebrating at the mall you are probably safe as the mall is now monitored by
hundreds of surveillance cameras,
watched by federal security forces. 
Don't do anything that you wouldn't want them to see.

Bring lots of cash with you,
there will be many taxes, fines, and fees to pay as you celebrate your freedoms
this day.

Do not leave home without your driver's license,
social security card, birth certificate, welfare card, Medicare card, medical
records, W-2 Form, and two others forms of ID.  You may be asked for them at the
police checkpoints.
Better yet, get micro-chipped, and avoid the hassle of carrying around your
papers.
Bring your library card, the FBI may ask you for it.
 

Do not put any "anti-government" bumper stickers on your car. Especially not
anything about the right to keep and bear arms. Police have been trained by the
FBI in "bumper sticker profiling".
This attracts their attention at the check points, and makes you look like a
terrorist.
 


With regard to "bumper sticker profiling" you should be especially aware of the
fact that "They will get my gun, when they pry it from my cold dead fingers" is
no longer mere semantics. At WACO, and at RUBY RIDGE,
we learned that they WILL kill you to take your guns
 
ALSO, be careful not to have any unauthorized THOUGHTS.
There are now serious penalties for "thought crime".
Be aware that "civil forfeiture" laws make it possible to take anything that you
own, by alleging that it was "intended" to be used for the commission of a
crime. This could include transporting, or storing, a gun.
If "civil forfeiture" proceedings are initiated against you,
then you will have the burden of proof,
to show that your thoughts were in compliance with government standards.
 
Get to know some politicians, and bureaucrats, so that you might be able to head
off the taking of your private property to be given to private developers for
the "public good".

If traveling by air, this Independence Day,
do not give the airport screeners a hard time. 
They are feeling you up, and molesting your daughter, and wife, for the security
of America.  If you complain you could be arrested.  You don't support Bin Laden
do you?

Keep an eye on your fellow Americans as you celebrate this 4th of July.  If you
see anything suspicious, take notes so that when you get home you can call and
report them to the Homeland Security Office. 
And remember you are not a nosey snitch, you are a great American Patriot.

Do not mention the signers of the Declaration of Independence this 4th of July. 
Mentioning these white subversive terrorists is not popular and could get you in
big trouble. 
Besides what do these guys have to do with the 4th of July anyway?

Do not leave home without one or more little plastic American flags made by
political slaves in Communist China. 
Make sure you have one flying from the antennae of your vehicle. 
You don't want to seem un-American do you?

Do not take a copy of the Declaration of Independence with you as it advocates
the overthrow of tyrannical government.

And remember, as you leave home for your 4th of July outing, that the second you
stepped out of your door that you probably broke hundreds of federal, state, and
local laws that you are probably unaware of. 
However, if you tow the line, you will not be charged.
 
If arrested you used to have the right to a jury trial,
and to be told what you have done wrong,
and appointed council.
Now you can be labeled an "enemy combatant" or terrorist,
and be placed in jail with no trial, no lawyer, nothing for as long as they
want.

The 50 per cent government confiscation of your income at the threat of
imprisonment or at the point of a gun should not even cross your mind as you

like the amount that the feudal serfs paid to their masters.
And whatever you do, do not let on that you really know that true freedom died a
long time ago in America, just have fun for the day and then go home and stick
your head back in the sand and pretend America is not becoming a fascist police
state.

If you have a few decades with nothing better to do,
study up on "administrative law".
Laws are now made by the unelected bureaucrats,
in hundreds of "administrative agencies".
If you are charged with violating one of these "laws" you will not get a trial
by a jury of your peers.
You will be tried by the agency that made the "law" and made the charge against
you.
If you appeal this "conviction," your appeal will also be heard by the
administrative agency that "convicted" you.
How likely is it, that they will decide, that they were right?

Declaration of Independence Facts
Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men who signed
the Declaration of Independence? Five signers were captured by the
British as traitors, and tortured before they died. Twelve had their
homes ransacked and burned. Two lost their sons serving in the
Revolutionary Army; another had two sons captured. Nine of the 56
fought and died from wounds or hardships of the Revolutionary War.
They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their
sacred honor.
What kind of men were they?
Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists. Eleven were merchants, nine
were farmers and large plantation owners; men of means, well educated.
But they signed the Declaration of Independence knowing full well
that the penalty would be death if they were captured. Carter Braxton
of Virginia, a wealthy planter and trader, saw his ships swept from
the seas by the British Navy. He sold his home and properties to pay
his debts, and died in rags. Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the
British that he was forced to move his family almost constantly. He
served in the Congress without pay, and his family was kept in hiding.
His possessions were taken from him,and poverty was his reward.
Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery, Hall, Clymer,
Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Rutledge, and Middleton. At the battle of
Yorktown, Thomas Nelson Jr, noted that the British General Cornwallis
had taken over the Nelson home for his headquarters. He quietly urged
General George Washington to open fire. The home was destroyed, and
Nelson died bankrupt. Francis Lewis had his home and properties
destroyed. The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few
months. John Hart was driven from his wife's bedside as she was
dying. Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his
gristmill were laid to waste. For more than a year he lived in
forests and caves, returning home to find his wife dead and his
children vanished. A few weeks later he died from exhaustion and a
broken heart. Norris and Livingston suffered similar fates.
Such were the stories and sacrifices of the American Revolution.
These were not wild-eyed, rabble- rousing ruffians. They were
soft-spoken men of means and education. They had security, but they
valued liberty more. Standing tall, straight, and unwavering, they
pledged: "For the support of this declaration, with firm reliance on
the protection of the divine providence, we mutually pledge to each
other, our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor." They gave you
and me a free and independent America. The history books never told
you a lot about what happened in the Revolutionary War. We didn't
fight just the British.
We were British subjects at that time and we fought our own
government! Some of us take these liberties so much for granted, but
we shouldn't. So,take a few minutes while enjoying your 4th of July
holiday and silently thank these patriots. It's not much to ask for
the price they paid.
Remember: Freedom is never free! I hope you will show your support by
please sending this to as many people as you can. It's time we get
the word out that patriotism is NOT a sin, and the Fourth of July has
more to it than beer, picnics, and baseball games.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than
the animating contest of freedom,
go home from us in peace.  We ask not your counsels or your arms.  Crouch down
and lick the hands which feed you.
May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our
countrymen.

   1. Support H.R.220: Common Sense About Identity Theft and REAL ID
   House bill H.R.220, short-titled the “Identity Theft Prevention Act of 2007,”
introduced by Rep. Ron Paul on January 4, 2007, purportedly would:

    reduce identity theft by prohibiting the use of a Social Security number for
any purpose other than for specified Social Security and tax purposes;
    prohibit the federal government from establishing a national ID or uniform
identifier system; and
    prevent federal agencies from using federal grants, contracts, or funding
(the carrot and stick strategy) to compel or blackmail states into adopting
uniform ID standards that would create a de facto national ID system.
   The establishing of a national ID card has far-reaching ramifications, with
the draconian potential that someday every citizen might be required to use a
trackable national ID card in order maintain a livelihood or function in
society. Furthermore, the REAL ID rebellion among the states over federal
requirements to make state driver’s licenses serve as a national ID card demands
the fullest possible debate in Congress on the entire range of legislative
options, including the plan of H.R.220. This bill should not be swept under the
rug by a committee.
   Help get H.R.220 out of committee and to the House floor for a vote. Ask your
congressman to cosponsor H.R.220 if he or she has not already done so.

its 50th year.

   HI again and Hey, I know some of us are discouraged and not participating much
these days.  Well, I've got a shot in the arm for you.  When I saw what I'm
about ot reveal It made me so proud to be a part of this movement that I nearly
cried.  Here's what I suggest.  Type in www.jbs.org in your title bar.  That
will bring up the home page of the John Birch Society.  You will see JBS news
Feeds.  You'll also see news here that you just won't see anywhere else, or
you'll see it first here.  A good example of this is the article about the
tobacco and pipe smokers convention.  I use this site for my home page.  Scroll
down until you come to the article: Overview of America,  Ron Paul at Duke
University.  Some of you may know that Ron Paul graduated from Duke.  Now this
will inspire you so be prepared to watch the whole thing.  It's going to take
about an hour and a half.  Start at the beginning.  Listen to the testimony of
the home schooling mother and Chapter Leader of the
  John Birch Society who put this entire meeting of 600 people together and sold
it to the school authorities.  Then, you will see a short segment of An Overview
of America which was personally approved by Ron Paul.  I have to confess, I was
blown away.  Me, of all people!  I had watched the predacessor of this film back
in the seventies and eighties hundreds of times so I never bothered to watch
this new version because I "knew it all".  Boy, was I wrong.  This movie is the
best explaination of what we are for, and against, the  types of governments,
the economic systems, how the economic systems fit in to the different types of
governments, that I have ever seen.  Trust me, you too will be inspired and
encouraged by this dvd.  Next, move on and hear the introduction to Ron Paul by
a Ron Paul candidate for Congress there in North Carolina and listen to his
testimony.  Finally, Ron Paul speaks for about an hour without interuption, 
except for applause, and without a note.
  I'd guess that about half of these collge students had not heard Ron Paul
before.  But when you see the size of the crowd, and the magnitude of the crowd
and realize the potential influence of just this crowd alone, It's going to make
you very proud to be a part of this movement and to be an American,as it did me.
It is very well worth the time and effort to tune in to this presentation

               Oppose H.R. 5036, Emergency Assistance for Secure Elections Act of
2008     [THOMAS] House Bill H.R. 5036 would purportedly increase the security
of the U.S. election process by reimbursing jurisdictions that voluntarily
replace Direct Recording Electronic voting systems with voter-verifiable paper
ballot systems in time for the 2008 elections. The bill would also grant the
Election Administration Commission (EAC) new audit regulatory powers and funding
to pay for vote count audits of randomly selected precincts, as well as pay for
hand counts of paper ballots cast in the 2008 elections.   Critics of H.R. 5036
assert:

    It would significantly expand an unconstitutional federal power grab to
control elections that was initiated through the disastrous Help America Vote
act of 2002 (HAVA) with its establishing of the Election Administration
Commission (EAC).
    A voter-verified paper ballot voting system is no guarantee against wholesale
election fraud. Electronic optical scanners used to count votes on paper ballots
can still be hacked or tampered with.
    The proposed EAC audit powers undermine the benefit of the paper ballot
system the bill seeks to promote, because per the proposed EAC audit policy only
"random" audits would be subsidized and none of the bill's $100 million of
authorized funding could be used for "targeted" audits directed at where there
is a suspicion of election fraud.
    Undesirable consequences may result from the bill's augmentation of the Help
America Vote Act of 2002. The EAC might invite U.N. international observers to
be placed throughout America to jointly monitor the fairness of U.S. elections.
   Bill Status:
H.R. 5036 is categorized as a suspension bill. Currently the bill is in the
committee stage. It can not be amended and requires a two thirds majority vote
to pass. H.R. 5036 is also a stopgap measure, with Rep. Rush Holt's long term
goals contained in H.R. 811 which should likewise be opposed.
   Oppose the unconstitutional federal usurpation of the rights of states to
control elections. We strongly object to the unconstitutional means by which
H.R. 5036 would use the people's desire for voter-verified paper ballots as bait
for establishing centralized control over elections. The constitutionally
established balance of powers must be restored to prevent an over centralization
of federal power leading to a dictatorship.

Recommended Action:
Please use the talking points below to urge your congressman to oppose H.R.
5036, The Emergency Assistance for Secure Elections Act of 2008. E-mail this
link to others in your sphere of influence and ask them to voice their
opposition to H.R. 5036 as well.

   They could use the revenues, from selling those buildings,
   to make up for the tax revenue, that they would lose,
   if we were to stop paying the income tax.
   Why should we pay for something that we are not getting?
   It has been clear for quite a while that it is a good thing that we do not get
as much government as we are paying for.
   The difference between theft and taxation is that when a thief takes your
money he does not use your money to control your life and business.
   Now they threaten us with less government.
   We are really scared.

   The South Carolina legislature passed a bill last year stating that we would
NOT be complying and Governor Sanford reaffirmed our state's defense of our 10th
amendment rights at this morning's press conference.

   Just think! We are going to have to give up our right to be audited by the

   Tell the federal government to just CLOSE all of those obsolete buildings, and
go back to Washington. If they are not going to let us in, what do they need
them for?

we're hoping he'll stand firm!

We ARE gathering at the State House at 9:30am in front of the Sumter St.
entrance.  Bring friends, make signs or bring flags.  EVERYONE is needed to show
our support of the No Real ID Bill the Governor signed last year.

If the Governor announces he will not file for an extension, then, we're
supporting the Governor.  The press conference is inside the building.  I don't
think we can enter with our signs.  I don't know whether we can enter at all. 
HOWEVER, WE CAN be a presence outside for the media to see. Anyone with a large
vehicle, if you want to designate a meeting place where you can pick up folks
who can't drive, please let me know so we can coordinate.

   WASHINGTON - Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff rebuked lawmakers
today for seeking to stall new rules on driver's licenses that could cause big
headaches for air travelers starting in May.
   Federal authorities are currently at a standoff with a handful of states over
a law called Real ID, which would require new security measures for state-issued
driver's licenses.

South Carolina, Maine, and Montana are the only states that have not sought
extensions to comply, or already started toward compliance with Real ID, which
was passed after the 2001 terror attacks on New York and Washington.

A fourth state, New Hampshire, has asked to be exempted, but homeland security
officials do not view that letter as a legally acceptable request, so the
Granite State has not received an extension.

Chertoff has warned that if holdout states do not send a letter by the end of
March seeking an extension, come May, residents of such states will no longer be
able to use their driver's licenses as valid ID to board airplanes or enter
federal buildings.

Such travelers would instead have to present a passport or be subjected to
secondary screening.

Five senators — Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine, Jon Tester and Max
Baucus of Montana, and John Sununu of New Hampshire — appealed to Chertoff last
week to exempt all 50 states from the looming deadline.

Chertoff responded today that it was not he, but Congress who picked the date
when the law went into effect in 2005.

"You may disagree with the foregoing law, but I cannot ignore it," Chertoff said
in the letter.

The law, he said, is necessary for national security according to
recommendations from the commission that studied the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.

"Secure identification is a cornerstone of protecting our communities," he said.

The nation's top homeland security official also offered a blunt warning to
those critics who claim the government is bluffing when it says it will impose
harsher security reviews in states that do not seek an extension from the Real
ID law.

"Showing up at the airport with only a driver's license from such a state will
be no better than showing up without identification," he wrote. "No doubt this
will impel many to choose the inconvenience of traveling with a passport."

Chertoff has offered a plan to gradually implement Real ID requirements over a
period of ten years, so that eventually all driver's licenses would have several
layers of security features to prevent forgery. They would also be issued only
after a number of identity checks, including immigration status and verification
of birth certificates.

Critics of the plan say it is too expensive, an invasion of privacy, and won't
actually make the country safer.

The most outspoken, Montana Democratic Gov. Brian Schweitzer, has said the
federal government can "go to hell." He argues that Real ID won't work and the
Bush administration won't be around long enough to prove it.

   Gov. Mark Sanford will end a month long drama on Monday when he announces
whether he will ask the Department of Homeland Security for an extension of the
Real ID deadline.


   Sanford will hold a news conference at 11 a.m. Monday to reveal his decision.
The deadline for asking for the extension also is Monday.


   If an extension is not granted, beginning May 11, South Carolina residents
would no longer be able to present their driver's licenses to board a commercial
airplane or enter a federal building. State residents would be required to
present a passport or go through additional screening to board a plane.


   An extension would give the state until Jan. 1, 2010, before the new rules
kicked in. The state House and Senate both approved resolutions earlier this
month urging Sanford to request an extension.


   Congress approved the 2005 Real ID Act in response to the 2001 terrorist
attacks on New York and Washington, D.C. It establishes national requirements
for state-issued driver's licenses.


   Amy Kudwa, a spokeswoman for Homeland Security, said the department would move
forward with the additional security measures if South Carolina did not receive
an extension.


   "Licenses from any state that opts not to comply will no longer be valid come
May 11," she said. "That is the law, and we fully intend to enforce that law."


   South Carolina and Maine are the two states that have yet to request an
extension.


   The South Carolina Legislature - citing concerns over cost and privacy issues
- last year approved a bill refusing to comply with the Real ID Act, a move that
complicated Sanford's decision.


   "State law says we can't comply with Real ID, and Homeland Security says
asking for an extension is complying," said Sanford spokesman Joel Sawyer.
"That's the question we keep coming back to."


   But Kudwa said other states with similar laws have been granted extensions.
New Hampshire, for instance, received one on Thursday after officials sent a
letter to Homeland Security outlining what they had done to make their licenses
more secure.


   State Attorney General Henry McMaster has said South Carolina should take the
same approach.


   Sawyer said if South Carolina isn't granted an extension and Homeland Security
does single out state residents, the courts could be asked to referee.


   "If South Carolinians are being treated differently than every other American,
it might be grounds for some sort of legal action," he said.

The Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution reads:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses,
papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures,
shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable
cause, supported by Oath or affirmations, and particularly describing
the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

   Congressional version of FISA Bill is not outrageous enough for Bush.   Bush
refused to sign because it did not grant immunity to private companies which
assisted government in violating our rights.

   The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) gives the federal government
totalitarian power to eavesdrop on telephone calls and e-mail messages.  The
House version; H.R. 3825, did not provide immunity to telecommunication
companies which collaborated in this crime against our liberty. These
warrantless wiretaps are a violation of the Fourth Amendment.  The Fourth
Amendment prohibits unreasonable searches and seizures, except with a warrant
issued with probable cause. Fourth Amendment states:
   "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and
effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and
no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or

   A Veto of the FISA Bill Endangers Americans

A part of what I will say, was said here on Jan. 31.
Unfortunately it is both sadder and truer now than it was then.
  "Who's to blame?" Mr. Bush also said this afternoon, "Look, these
  folks in Congress passed a good bill late last summer.... The problem
  is, they let the bill expire. My attitude is: If the bill was good
  enough then, why not pass the bill again?"

  Like the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution. Or Executive Order 90-66. Or
  The Alien and Sedition Acts. Or slavery.

  Mr. Bush, you say that our ability to track terrorist threats
  will be weakened and our citizens will be in greater danger. Yet you
  have weakened that ability!

  You have subjected us, your citizens, to that greater danger!
  This, Mr. Bush, is simple enough for even you to understand.

  For the moment, at least, thanks to some true patriots in the
  House, and your own stubbornness, you have tabled telecom immunity,
  and the FISA act.

  You. By your own terms and your definitions, you have just sided
  with the terrorists. You've got to have this law, or we're all going
  to die. But, practically speaking, you vetoed this law.

  It is bad enough, sir, that you were demanding an ex post facto
  law that could still clear the AT&Ts and the Verizons from
  responsibility for their systematic, aggressive and blatant
  collaboration with your illegal and unjustified spying on Americans
  under this flimsy guise of looking for any terrorists who are stupid
  enough to make a collect call or send a mass e-mail.

  But when you demanded it again during the State of the Union
  address, you wouldn't even confirm that they actually did anything
  for which they deserved to be cleared.

"The Congress must pass liability protection for companies
  believed to have assisted in the efforts to defend America."

  Believed? Don't you know? Don't you even have the guts Dick
  Cheney showed in admitting they did collaborate with you? Does this
  endless presidency of loopholes and fine print extend even here? If
  you believe in the seamless mutuality of government and big business,
  come out and say it! There is a dictionary definition, one word that
  describes that toxic blend.

  You're a fascist - get them to print you a T-shirt with fascist
  on it! What else is this but fascism? Did you see Mark Klein on this
  newscast last November?

  Mark Klein was the AT&T whistleblower who explained in the
  placid, dull terms of your local neighborhood IT desk how he
  personally attached all AT&T circuits, everything, carrying every one
  of your phone calls, every one of your e-mails, every bit of your Web
  browsing into a secure room, room No. 641-A at the Folsom Street
  facility in San Francisco, where it was all copied so the government
  could look at it.

  Not some of it, not just the international part of it, certainly
  not just the stuff some spy, a spy both patriotic and telepathic,
  might be able to divine had been sent or spoken by or to a terrorist.

  Everything! Every time you looked at a naked picture. Every time
  you bid on eBay. Every time you phoned in a donation to a
  Democrat. "My thought was," Mr. Klein told us last November, "George
  Orwell's `1984.' And here I am, forced to connect the Big Brother
  machine."

  And if there's one thing we know about Big Brother, Mr. Bush, it
  is that he is - you are - a liar.

  "This Saturday at midnight," you said Thursday, "legislation
  authorizing intelligence professionals to quickly and effectively
  monitor terrorist communications will expire. If Congress does not
  act by that time, our ability to find out who the terrorists are
  talking to, what they are saying and what they are planning will be
  compromised." You said that "the lives of countless Americans depend"
  on your getting your way.

  This is crap. And you sling it with an audacity and a speed
  unrivaled by even the greatest political felons of our history.

  Richard Clarke - you might remember him, sir: He was one of the
  counterterror pros you inherited from President Clinton, before you
  ran the professionals out of government in favor of your unreality-
  based reality - Richard Clarke wrote in the Philadelphia Inquirer:

  "Let me be clear: Our ability to track and monitor terrorists
  overseas would not cease should the Protect America Act expire.

  "If this were true, the president would not threaten to terminate
  any temporary extension with his veto pen. All surveillance currently
  occurring would continue even after legislative provisions lapsed
  because authorizations issued under the act are in effect up to a
  full year."

  You are a liar, Mr. Bush. And after showing some skill at it, you
  have ceased to even be a very good liar.

  And your minions like John Boehner, your Republican congressional
  crash dummies who just happen to decide to walk out of Congress when
  a podium-full of microphones await them, they should just keep
  walking, out of Congress and, if possible, out of the country.

  For they and you, sir, have no place in a government of the
  people, by the people, for the people.

  The lot of you are the symbolic descendants of the despotic
  middle managers of some banana republic to whom "freedom" is an
  ironic brand name, a word you reach for when you want to get away
  with its opposite.

Thus, Mr. Bush, your panoramic invasion of privacy is dressed up
  as "protecting America."

  Thus, Mr. Bush, your indiscriminate domestic spying becomes the
  focused monitoring only of "terrorist communications."
  Thus, Mr. Bush, what you and the telecom giants have done isn't
unlawful; it's just the kind of perfectly legal, passionately
  patriotic thing for which you happen to need immunity!

  Richard Clarke is on the money, as usual.

  That the president was willing to veto this eavesdropping means
  there is no threat to the legitimate counterterror efforts under way.

  As Sen. Edward Kennedy reminded us in December:

  "The president has said that American lives will be sacrificed if
   Congress does not change FISA.
  "But he has also said that he will veto any FISA bill that does
   not grant retroactive immunity.

  "No immunity, no FISA bill. So if we take the president at his
  word, he's willing to let Americans die to protect the phone

  The idea that even the most cynical and untrustworthy of
  politicians in our history, George W. Bush, would use the literal
  form of terrorism against his own people was dangerous territory. It
  seemed to tempt fate, to heighten fear.

  We will not fear any longer. We will not fear the international
  terrorists, and we will thwart them. We will not fear the recognition
  of the manipulation of our yearning for safety, and we will call it
  what it is: terrorism. We will not fear identifying the vulgar
  hypocrites in our government, and we will name them. And we will not
  fear George W. Bush. Nor will we fear because George W. Bush wants us
  to fear.

   WASHINGTON - Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff rebuked lawmakers
today for seeking to stall new rules on driver's licenses that could cause big
headaches for air travelers starting in May.
   Federal authorities are currently at a standoff with a handful of states over
a law called Real ID, which would require new security measures for state-issued
driver's licenses.

South Carolina, Maine, and Montana are the only states that have not sought
extensions to comply, or already started toward compliance with Real ID, which
was passed after the 2001 terror attacks on New York and Washington.

A fourth state, New Hampshire, has asked to be exempted, but homeland security
officials do not view that letter as a legally acceptable request, so the
Granite State has not received an extension.

Chertoff has warned that if holdout states do not send a letter by the end of
March seeking an extension, come May, residents of such states will no longer be
able to use their driver's licenses as valid ID to board airplanes or enter
federal buildings.

Such travelers would instead have to present a passport or be subjected to
secondary screening.

Five senators — Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine, Jon Tester and Max
Baucus of Montana, and John Sununu of New Hampshire — appealed to Chertoff last
week to exempt all 50 states from the looming deadline.

Chertoff responded today that it was not he, but Congress who picked the date
when the law went into effect in 2005.

"You may disagree with the foregoing law, but I cannot ignore it," Chertoff said
in the letter.

The law, he said, is necessary for national security according to
recommendations from the commission that studied the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.

"Secure identification is a cornerstone of protecting our communities," he said.

The nation's top homeland security official also offered a blunt warning to
those critics who claim the government is bluffing when it says it will impose
harsher security reviews in states that do not seek an extension from the Real
ID law.

"Showing up at the airport with only a driver's license from such a state will
be no better than showing up without identification," he wrote. "No doubt this
will impel many to choose the inconvenience of traveling with a passport."

Chertoff has offered a plan to gradually implement Real ID requirements over a
period of ten years, so that eventually all driver's licenses would have several
layers of security features to prevent forgery. They would also be issued only
after a number of identity checks, including immigration status and verification
of birth certificates.

Critics of the plan say it is too expensive, an invasion of privacy, and won't
actually make the country safer.

The most outspoken, Montana Democratic Gov. Brian Schweitzer, has said the
federal government can "go to hell." He argues that Real ID won't work and the
Bush administration won't be around long enough to prove it.

Foreclosing over a Ron Paul Paint job? What happened to the 1st Amendment? What
part of the mortgage contract gives them this right?


             Granny News      There are a lot of strange things happening, while
I am not a conspiracy nut or paranoid or at least I don't think I am but, there
are several events that have happened this past week sure make me wonder.
   Last night while listening to the radio I heard that Murray Sabrin's Web Site
had been shut down just at the time he was running his Money Bomb which had been
promoted by Ron Paul. Net Solutions shut it down by their own doing, not a site
that had been crashed but simply shut it down. I think from all reports that
Murray did have a back up site, hopefully so.
   This is just one incident that has shown me we are being attacked or harrassed
as supporters in a attempt to let people know "Don't be seen or heard supporting
Ron Paul". Things are getting more personal and up close in an effort to scare
us all off. Make us back down and be quiet and take the bitter medicine whether
you like it or not after all it is what is best for you?
   Another strange event: Nannette who painted her whole house Ron Paul.. in the
sleepy little town of Magnolia has received a notice from her Mortgage company,
not the Home Owners Association but the actual mortgage company. Her house will
be foreclosed on if she does not have her house repainted by March 17th. It
seems the Mortgage company does not like the paint colors?

   This is a beautiful paint job, well done and artistic.. It is really a work of
art not a eyesore. I don't have any idea if the Company can really Foreclose
within just 2 weeks or not but just the threat is enough to cause a lot of
worry, especially when your mortgage payments are up to date.
   I would hope all of you would make a call today or Monday to this company and
let them know you know of their actions. Just think of the problems it could
cause them to have all their customers learn how their own mortgages could be
called in if they offended the powers that be? The name is:

   While we have always had some vandalism to contend with in the last few weeks
it has been a little more concentrated.. first my email was hacked and thousands
of porn messages were sent out in my name, my web site was hacked and porn put
in its place, ( those have been fixed quickly and a more secure system is now in
place) I get phone calls with just heavy breathing on the line at strange hours
of the night, obviously these people don't know me as one asked "Do you know
where your kids are right now?" well hell no he is 50 years old and lives in
Fla. and is very capable of taking care of himself. Another asked "Has that
precious monkey of yours eaten anything bad today?" Well duhhhhh he eats
everything he can get his hands on but we happen to be at home now and he is not
in contact with anyone but the family. And..the best one: " Do you know who the
woman is that your husband dates while you are gone?" I just hope she is not as
old as I am so Tim can at least have a
  little fun... when I said that they hung up.?
   On the way home we stopped for gas and Chris noticed we had a flat tire?
Luckily there was a tow truck in the parking lot who could change the tire for
us, there was not a thing wrong with the tire except the valve stem had been
loosened so it viberated out? We checked all the tires and sure enough they were
all loose.
   After I returned home my husband took my car to work one morning, he usually
drives his truck, he saw a state trooper on the road and didn't worry about it
as it was 4 AM in the morning and he was going within the speed limit. He went
about 2 more miles to where the road forked and found it blocked and state
troopers standing in the road with their guns drawn. He was ordered to stay
still, keep his hands in sight, did he have a weapon, don't move etc. all the
while these guys had their guns on him. They checked his ID and told him to
drive on? No apology, no explanation, nothing. All I can think of is they saw
that car with the Ron Paul logos on it and thought it was me but anyone that
knows me would know I would not be out at 4 AM as I like to sleep too much for
that.
   The last little bit of aggravation: I still owe $17,000.00 on this RV, it is
financed privately, now the owners wife sent me a letter stating it has to be
paid off by next month or they will have to do something? Well they can
certainly come and get it, I would hate that to happen but if they refuse to
accept any more payments ( $550.00 a month) they will certainly have to do just
that as there is no way we have that kind of cash on hand to pay it off. I would
hate to see that happen as it has a lot of meaning to everyone especially the
thousands who have autographed it. The implication of the message is that should
they have to reclaim it I would be responsible for restoring it to it's original
state? Whew.... that would be almost impossible and extremely costly which of
course I would be responsible for. When we took this thing on I told the owner
exactly what I was going to do with it and his statement was. " It didn't matter
as i t belongs to you now"
   All these incidents may just be accidental but I seriously doubt it. The only
problem is these people have no idea of what they are doing. I am so dern
stubborn this mess just makes me more determined to fight back. I may get tired
and worn out and disheartened but it doesn't last. Once I get my bearings and
get rested up I am ready to go again.
   We will do the Rally in Washington, We will be working in NC to support
Dr.Paul and the candidates that support his platform and we will be at the Young
Republicans Convention on the 11th of April. Count on it. We will be on the
roads, we will be moving around and we will not quit.
   Buddy is well armed and ready to defend his home and country. In other words
   "DON'T MESS WITH THIS MONKEY"

   We will also be working with RPR Radio and several organizations that are
going to be running radio ads all over Arizona this month, next month it will
spread to other areas in an effort to get the word out and let the public know
what kind of a hack job he really is. Radio ads will be on local stations all
over the country, they cost $25.00 each when purchased in quanitity, for a 30
second ad. Doesn't sound like a long ad but believe me it works.
   I am asking all of you to please if at all possible pay for one ad $25.00

files. I have heard it and it is really good. It will be updated regularly to
promote Dr Pauls platform and to help others who are running for office under
his banners. We as a nation have to really start at the bottom and get our
Country back. Whether or not Ron wins or loses, the Revolution must continue. We
cannot afford to allow it to peter out as this is our and our children's future
we are trying to preserve. As Dr. Paul has always said it is not the Messenger
but the Message which must prevail.
   We are still working on the Rally below: I am so happy to report that there
are so many new candidates who have called in and want to speak at the Rally. Of
course we are making room for all of them. A wonderful band out of Miami will be
performing along with Wanda Case and her beautiful voice. So many many people
who are coming on board and helping to make this a real event. Whether or not we
get the National Media Attention or not the Congress and Senate will see us and
hear us, they will know their careers are on the line and they better shape up
or be shipped out.
   There are several other groups working in concert making this a day that will
be remembered both in Washington and the nation. Taxday08 is one of the sites
