The Boys Town Gang was a Cool little Disco group. They only cranked out a few
Albums and most all of them were remakes/remixes of other performers songs. For
example, they remade for the disco era, Ashford and Simpson's "Ain't No Mountain
High Enough" and did it quite well!!!

And Other Songs Like:
1. Can't Take My Eyes Off You!
2. Come & Get Your Love!
3. Signed Sealed Delivered!
4. Disco Kicks!
5. You're The One!
6. Remember Me!
7. Cruisin' The Streets!
8. I Just Can't Help Believeing!
9. Dance Trance (Mega Mix!)

Cynthia Manley was the lead singer and had this exceedingly mournful wailing
voice that worked extremely well. In the spoken portions of "Cruising the
Streets" you can hear her Tanya Roberts-like raspy voice in all its sexy
splendor.
The Boys Town Gang as a musical group by and for the gay population. It is
doubtful that anyone outside of a gay bar ever heard one of their songs, unless
it was a result of some "queen" playing it for them. The beats are very typical
of the early 1980's gay bar sound - heavy percussion, with an emphasis on the
drums, tambourine, and (yes, believe it or not) the police whistle.

the most unique song is "Cruising the Street". When I first heard this song, it
was completely unheard of to hear blatant references to sex or any king of foul
language in a song. After I heard this song, I ran out to my local
gay-disco-bar-record-supplier and hunted down a copy. "Cruising the Street is
exceedingly repetitious in its chorus, but it is Manley's wailing vocals that
make it appealing - that, and oh, yeah.....the bridge of the song. In the bridge
of the song there is a very long dialogue between various characters who are
each trying to get some "strange" out in the street, all the while the drum beat
plays. I only ever heard this song played in its entirety twice in a bar (quite
frankly it's a long song) and that is because the dialogue portion would really
kill the movement on the dance floor as people strained to hear what was being
said and laughed at the same Time!!!

Here you go folks,

   These are my favorite Movie scenes and TV Shows of The 70's.  Although I have
thousands of favorite movie scenes and TV shows, but I can only record and rip
these for now.  Warning! Some of the scenes contain obsence language, violence,
dramatic and gruesome segments.  Viewers descretion is advised!

   Here's what you will get:

   PART 1
   - The Warriors (1979)
   The famous ending scene "Warriors, come out to PlaaaaaaY"
    - King Kong (1976)
   The dramatic entrance of King Kong when he picks up his bride played by
"Jessica Lang."
   - Scarface (1983)
   The gruesome scene of Angel, Tony Montana's friend gets chopped up in pieces
with a chainsaw when a drug deal goes bad.

   PART 2
   - The Taking of Pelham One, Two, Three (1974)
   The Hi-jack scene with Robert Shaw and the killing of a supervisor.
   - Trouble Man (1972)
   Classic black cinema with Robert Hook playing Mr. T who is going after the
gangster that double-crossed him.
   - Superman The Movie (1978)
   Superman is about to meet his arch-enemy "Lex Luther" played by Gene Hackman. 
This scene was deleted from the original theatrical release in 1978.  This is a
violent scene.  No wonder it was deleted from the original version.  Now
available on DVD.

   PART 3
   - Good Times (1975)
   At the age of 7, I cried like a baby when JJ played by Jimmy Walker was shot
in this second season episode of Good Times by gang leader Mad Dog.  I always
hated the kids father James played by John Amos because he was too tough on the
kids. At the age 15 after watching the reruns, I was singing a different tune. 
James was truly a father, protecting his kids, raising the kids to be respectful
and trying to provide for his family during bad economic times.  I really wanted
James to beat the hell out of Mad Dog for shooting JJ, but after watching this
eposide a second time, James was truly a father with a heart of gold.  His
character does portray a loving father and a devoted husband despite what any
critics say.

   - Let Do it Again (1975)
   Bootney (Jimmy Walker) who plays an underdog boxer was hypnotized by Billy
(Bill Cosby) and Clyde (Sidney Poitier) to be a super confident boxer that can
kick anyone's butt.  After Billy and Clyde hypnotized Bootney, they place a big
bet with two big gangsters Biggie Smalls (Calvin Lockhart) and Kansas City Mack
(James Amos).

   - Dralion "Cirque De Soleil" (2000)
   This is not a movie but will be a timeless classic.  Try to imagine a man
juggling balls in a circus not only with his hands, but with his feet, his back,
his neck, basically with his entire body.  Not only does he juggle, but dances
as he juggles.  This juggler stole the show in this Cirque De Soliel's
performance called Dralion.  The music he is juggling to is also funky.

The Latin Soul Show Internet Radio received many emails from listeners
requesting to air several Sweet Latin Soul from the 60’s and 70’s.  Several
requested specific classic Sweet Latin Soul songs by Ralfi Pagan, Joe Bataan,
Paul Ortiz, Benito Sextet, Joe Cuba, Jimmy Sabater and a host of others.

   Every Wednesdays at 12pm (EST) the station features Sweet Latin Soul with a
mixture of fast tempo Boogaloo classics.

   Hold on to your Sweet Latin Soul tooth until Wednesday January 25th, 2005
because on that day at 12pm (EST), it’s not only my Birthday, but the station is
going to give you 12 hours (Over 200 Tracks on the playlist) of nothing but the

Greeting folks.

   I need everyone's help on this one so I am sending this to all groups.  I was
watching on cable Sylvester Stalone and Billy Dee Williams classic crime drama
flick "Nighthawks."  There was a club scene where Sylvester and Billy were
pursuing the bad guy played by Ruter Hauer that erupted into a shootout.  There
was a funky disco song playing in the background.  The credits flew by so
quickly that it can not be read.

   A lot of cable network channels just roll the credits so quickly that not even
the High Definition DVR converters can pick it up.  You can freeze it but it so
small and with the picture in picture effect of the coming attactions you can
not read crap on your TV monitor and I have a HD TV.  Why the heck do they have
credits at the end of movies when they air on cable networks if they are not
legible?  It beats the heck out of me.

   Here is the club scene. I need someone to identify the disco song playing in
the background.  I want this song.

Ok folks. "I Who Have Nothing" better to do because I am bored out of my mind
staying home and taking a few days off from work resting my back and laying here
in bed.  Get it?? "I WHO HAVE NOTHING" LOL!  Alrighty that was a bad joke.

   Anyway, since I who have nothing better to do, decided to have some fun and
create a poll and perhaps you can enjoy this poll also.  This fun poll is for
everyone including the disco groups.  Perhaps I'll create another one like this
one if everyone enjoyed it.

   The song "I Who Have Nothing" was recorded by everyone and their grandmothers.
I only have 8 versions of this song.  There was a Blues Version, A R&B/Soul
Version, A Disco Version etc etc.  Which version was your favorite?  Listen to
each song, enjoy them and don't forget to vote for your favorite version of "I
WHO HAVE NOTHING."

   It's a tough poll, but I think it's a fun one.
