John Wesley - Return To Katie Fitzgerald's - 4th June 2009
In the Summer of 2006 John Wesley performed an intimate acoustic show
for his UK and European fans at Katie Fitzgerald's in Stourbridge. It
was a magical evening which was recorded and later issued as a highly
acclaimed live album.
Now three years later, Wes is returning to The Cellar Bar at Katie
Fitzgerald's for what promises to be another very special show.
Wes will be premiering brand new songs which will form part of the the
follow-up album to 2005's "Shiver" along with lots of old favourites
from across his back catalogue ... and you never know whether an old
friend may drop by.
For the uninitiated, the music of John Wesley has been called
lyrically sensitive and musically dynamic. Wesley’s brand of guitar-
driven acoustic and electric songs represent the cultivation of a
diversity of inspirations from alternative, progressive, classic rock,
and folk genres intertwined with poignant lyrics drawn from the poetry
of the common man.
Furthermore, his skillful, versatile and energetic guitar style
complements with fury his soulful emotionally-charged vocals,
reminiscent of Roger Waters or Bruce Springsteen. But what really
appeals to Wesley’s fans worldwide is a spark of sincerity and
sensitivity so often absent in today’s mainstream music.
Most recently, John Wesley has performed as guitarist/vocalist for the
critically acclaimed Porcupine Tree during the In Absentia, Deadwing,
and Fear of a Blank Planet tours. In recent years he has also
performed lead guitars and background vocals for White Lion frontman
Mike Tramp, subbed on lead guitar and bass for Gainesville’s Sister
Hazel, and as lead guitarist/songwriter for Scottish neo-prog legend
Fish.
