I also play the guitar and like western swing. To be honest, I'm not a big Bob
Wills fan and prefer the Moon Mullican strand of western swing. Mullican's songs
are undersold and I think he and Cliff Bruner have produced some of the greatest
WS music around: "I'll keep thinking of you", "I'll keep on loving you", etc.
I also love bluegrass music - and like the festivals. You can't beat the oldtime
country! Moon Mullican and Bill Monroe rule.
Sincerely,
Patrick.

Subject: [Western Swing Lovers] New to the group
Hi,
My name is Jerry Carris from Jacksonville, Fl. I have been playing the
guitar for over 40 years and Western Swing just about as long. My dad
made me learn a Bob Wills song for every rock-and-roll song I learn for
a while. I was playing San Antonio Rose (in Bb) before I was playing
Twist and Shout in D.
Every year I teach a class in Swing Guitar at the Florida Folk Festival.
Are there any group members near Jacksonville that would like to get
together and jam?
Jerry Carris
Jacksonville, Fl
