Friends,
I just got the bad news of Speedy's passing from Barb Martin of
Western Swing Monthly. I had the honor of meeting him in Tulsa
a couple of years back at the Bob Wills' Birthday Bash.
Rest In Peace Speedy. You are a legend.
-------------
Friends-

This is becoming a year of even greater loss than we imagined.
Saturday morning November 15 at 9:30AM the great Speedy
West passed away.  His musicianship is legendary, Speedy set
the standards for steel players to follow.  And he was a kind soul,
a sweet, funny man, generous, who will be remembered and
loved always.

Funeral services have been set for Tuesday November 18 at
10AM at the Riverview Baptist Church in Bixby, OK.  13201 So
Memorial Dr.  918-369-2055.  Burial will follow in Broken Arrow,
OK.  Handling the arrangements is the Bixby Funeral Service -
918-369-1700.  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested
donations in Speedy's name to St. Francis Hospice c/o St.
Francis Hospital in Tulsa.

Rest in peace our dear friend.
