First thanks to to both of you-Allen and msteeln for your replies
regarding the steel guitar and an extra big thanks for the information
and link to the Frenchy website as I will certainly be checking this
site out.
Mssteeln, I will be in Oahu the latter half of June and would
certainly appreciate any information on events such as these during
that time period.One thing I would love to do is talk with anyone
still around that was affiliated with the "Hawaii Calls" radio show.
This used used to broadcast with a live audience and as I understand
it these shows used to originate from the Moana Hotel Banyan Lanai
and were broadcast across the mainland on 600 or so radio stations.I
have had more than one steel player over the years mention this show
as being quite an influence in their taking up the steel or at least
