Hello Wichita Drummers

My Name is Cy AKA "Cy the Drum Guy". I am a Drum maker, been making drums since
1993. And I live near Lawrence KS.
I wanted to post a note here because I also help organize the Greater midwest
drumming scene. I have started Groups in Omaha, NE with over 200 members now,
and KC with around 300 members, I'm currently working on forming a group here in
Lawrence. The reason I do this.... I want to put on the largest gathering of
hand drummers in the central USA.
Well not just me exactly, infact if I tried to do it by myself I know I'd get
overwhelmed and crash under the stress, LOL "I may be crazy but I ain't stupid".
OK so this event is still in its infancy right now. I'm working with Skewb of
the KC drum tribe (he actually runs that one now as I moved to Lawrence) He is
working on permissions for land use of a camp ground about half way between KC
and Lawrence, once we have that confirmed and have worked out the details I'll
post more info. This gathering won't happen till middle of next summer, but I
figure the longer the word is out the better chance of success we have for it.

In the mean time I'll let you know about our cirles and events going on up this
way.
Every monday the KC drum tribe meets at Loose Park in KC MO at 7pm. Usually 70
to 100 ppl show up though not all are drumming, Search Kansas City Drum Tribe on
Youtube for an Idea of the circle.
August 15th I am teaching a Fun with Drums Spiritual drumming workshop at
Subterra just east of Topeka. Email me off list for more details.
July 31 thru Aug 2 at Camp Gaea is Zen Fest. Festival centered around finding
your Zen through movement and meditation. This is a heavy workshop fest, lots of
fire spinning and Drumming as used for meditation check www(dot)campgaea(dot)org
