DJ MONKEY’S SECOND CD, ‘3RD WORLD WAR,’ COMING JULY 4TH NOW, after two
years of grinding out a sophomore effort, DJ MONKEY is announcing a second CD,
titled “3RD WORLD WAR,” to be released this coming July 4th, on SQUID MUSIC.
This release with such titles as “LOVE KNOWS NO COLOR”, “GOD IS AN
UNDERACHIEVER,” “EVERYBODY DIED LAST WEEK,” “HIP HOP BE BOP,” “THE HUM” and of
course the title track “3RD WORLD WAR,” promises to be every bit, if not more,
intriguing and poetic as was their first CD, ANOTHER EVOLUTION. Since it’s
initial release in November of 2003, DJ MONKEY’S debut CD, ‘ANOTHER EVOLUTION,’
has received worldwide critical acclaim. Having developed a reputation for being
inventive and unique, this spoken word, alternative rap, old school urban R&B
based rock ensemble has further enriched Los Angeles’ growing legacy of
diversity and musical fusion with what they call “New Beat.” ANOTHER EVOLUTION
continuously topped the prominent online charts, domestically
and internationally, and won numerous awards. It was also used in a number of
independent films, and created many conversations on the possible direction of
the hip-hop movement.
