Hello to all my friends.
This is a special invitation for you to take part in a ONE OF A KIND broadcast
tonight at 7pm Mountain time. Didgerod's Live Blog TV Broadcast will be
co-hosting "Jim Cook" world class Native American Flute Player and Guitarist.
Jim has played live around the Kansas City Area for many years and has recorded
4 cd's. His beautiful guitar work accompanied by the sweet voice of the Native
American Flute Jim produces a wonderful vibration. You can listen to some of
Jim's music on his web site or his You Tube Channel.

Check Jim's Bio :
Greetings..
I've been writing and recording my own music in many styles for a long time now.
Having played guitar and other instruments for 25+ years before playing the
Native American style flute it was a natural transition from improvising
melodies to what is called in the flute world "playing from the heart".

How the flutes entered my life goes like this. A dear friend of mine's mother
who was on vacation in the Ozarks had an accident and wound up in a small
hospital near there. While recuperating in the hospital she heard the sounds of
a flute being played by a minister who would walk the halls and visit the
patients. The sound had such a positive effect on the mother that my friend
found out what the instrument was and decided to get a hold of one and learn to
play it for her even though she had never played an instrument before. A couple
months later, after hearing this story, there was a festival in my town where I
happened upon these same style flutes in a store that had just opened up. I
picked one up and found that it was easy for me to play and loved the sound and
possibilities that were present in this little stick with holes in it. My
intention was to learn how to play it to be able to teach my friend, but as
things go, I've not had the chance yet.

But maybe someday.

See everyone there!

I am happy to announce that Jim Cook will be dedicating his portion of tonight's
broadcast to the Lakhota People in South Dakota that have been without power for
the last several weeks due to a major ice storm. This storm has hit many
Native American People in South Dakota and there are many in great need.
Thanks Jim! Hope to see all tonight...... <3

Hello all.  Let's put our heads together and pick a date for a new years after
didge party.  Let me know the time and day of the week that works best for you.
Sunday afternoon got the most votes from my last inquiry, and Friday, early
evening came in second..  Your input is important.

Also, please check your network to see if you know any players in the Denver
metro area that may be interested so I can include them on this list.

Sincerely,
John Hopper

Our fantastic new web master Rebecca Love designed this logo for the
festival... it's just a taste of what's to come as well. The new web site
is just as beautifully designed.

Your words and thoughts about the festival, our community, and the didj are
most welcomed and will be featured on the site.

If you are a musician or vendor who attended the festival or might like to
in the future, please send a paragraph to describe what you do, and a link
to your web site.

The new site will include festival information, a place forvolunteers to
sign up, a place to donate or buy tickets, and a community discussion board.

We will be rolling out the public version of the site soon... probably late
January

many many thanks,

Joy

Join Christopher Douglas, former apprentice to world mystic and nagual teacher,
CARLOS CASTANEDA, and he will show how daily routines keep us locked into
certain patterns of ordinary reality behaviors that can greatly slow down the
growth process of human consciousness. To re-align and learn what your real
motives are, you must break free of illusions and be able to recognize true and
false information about yourself. If you are operating under false assumptions
about yourself, how can you understand anything that's happening to you? Join us
to self discovery through true freedom methods of Castaneda's journeys into &
thru portals of non-ordinary realities.

Carlos Castaneda (25 December 1925 – 27 April 1998) was a Pervian-born American
author. Starting with The Teachings of Don Juan in 1968, Castaneda wrote a
series of books that describe his purported training in traditional mesoamerican
shamanism. His 12 books have sold more than 8 million copies in 17 languages.
The books and Castaneda, who rarely spoke in public about his work, have been
controversial for many years. Supporters claim the books are either true or at
least valuable works of philosophy and descriptions of practices which enable an
increased awareness. In his books, Castaneda narrated in first person what he
claimed were his experiences under the tutelage of a Yaqui shaman named Don
Jouan Matus whom he met in 1960. Castaneda wrote that he was identified by Don
Juan Matus as having the energetic configuration of a "nagual," who, if the
spirit chose, could become a leader of seers. He also used the term "nagual" to
signify that part of perception which is in the realm of the unknown yet still
reachable by man, implying that, for his party of seers, Don Juan was in some
way a connection to that unknown. Castaneda often referred to this unknown realm
as nonordinary reality, which indicated that this realm was indeed a reality,
but radically different from the ordinary reality experienced by human beings
who are well engaged in everyday activities as part of their social
conditioning. --From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Joy,
Thank you for the note.
I'm sorry I wasn't able to attend the festival, I had to be here in Amarillo for
in-services right before the beginning of the new semester (I teach at a
community college here). But I hope to be able to attend in the future!
Can you point me to where to find the group on facebook?  I just got on FB a
couple months ago and still don't know how to find my way around very well.

Thank you!

Thank you so much to everyone who could attend the Rocky Mountain Didj Fest,
and those who sent energy from afar.

The sudden last minute move made the festival small, but intimate in a
beautiful forested place.  I'm sad to say all my own pix of the festival
were accidentally erased :-(  I have only my own memories, and your photos,
to go on.

I'm happy to announce that we have a new volunteer webmaster!  Rebecca Love
of Shinza design ( http://www.shinzadesign.com/ ) will be building our site
this year.

So, please send pictures and video of the event... I will post them to the
yahoo group, the facebook page, and soon our honest to god "real" website.

Also, our facebook group has expired (apparently since the event is over).
I've started a new, permanent group.  Please sign up on facebook, even if
you were already a member.

-----------------

Another announcement -- some of have volunteered to be "Regional
Coordinators".  This means you find all the didj players and interested
folks in your area.  Post to the local email lists, and create your own.
Host events in your area during the year.  Brad Evans has volunteered to be
Regional Coordinator for Arizona, and Matt Clark for Salida.  We still need
coordinators for the Bay Area, Portland, Seattle, New Mexico, Boulder,
Denver, and Crestone.  Sign up and get your area going!

super huggers,

Joy

Quote from this unique co-host: " After receiving this Didgeridoo I did a sacred
ceremony to connect with didgeridoo consciousness. As I aligned with my
intention and allowed consciousness to flow, I felt it within me. Ever since
that moment ...it has moved, danced, sang and meditated within me. For some time
I played alone purely for the experience. Fulfilled with the divine
synchronicity of letting go while embracing, feeling and sharing the primal
powerful vibrations of the Didgeridoo". Quinn Eaker

Thank you, Per! Yes, the door will open by about 7:00, and Ondrej will start
playing a short while after that. And for those who don't know the venue, the
studio is on the SW corner of Simpson and Michigan, and while the address is
Simpson, the door is on Michigan. Hope to see many of you there!
