As part of WUSPBA's adjudication certification program the Music Board is
presenting an
ensemble clinic in conjunction with the Caledonia Club of San Francisco's 143rd
Annual
Scottish Highland Games to be held at the Alameda County Fairgrounds, Labor Day
Weekend, August 30/31. The administration of the fairgrounds has kindly
consented to
the use of their facilities and the clinic will be held in the boardroom of the
County
Fairgrounds Administration Building on Saturday evening, August 30 from 6 to
approximately 7:30 pm following the end of the games activities. The
Administration
Building is located at the main (yellow) gate to the fairgrounds. Ken
Sutherland, current
President of the Music Board, will conduct the clinic. While intended as a
preparatory clinic
for the ensemble exam we are pleased to invite and encourage to attend any pipe
majors/drum sergeants who would like the opportunity to learn more about
ensemble
from an experienced judge's perspective. This is a very timely clinic for those
intending to
take the ensemble exam at the AGM in November and an exciting opportunity to
enhance
your knowledge of ensemble for interested band officers. We look forward to
your
participation.
FYI: there will be an informal ceilidh at the fairgrounds after the games on
Saturday and
the Administration Building is located next door to the area where the ceilidh
will be held.
It will be convenient to attend the ceilidh at the conclusion of the clinic.
