Hey folks, we're heading Uptown this Saturday night. YE will be
heading to East Harlem to play at Camaradas - my personal
favorite bar in New York. It's got a great vibe, cool crowds and the
best tasting tap beers in New York (no lie!). They also have a
nice food menu, featuring reasonably priced nuevo caribeńo
cuisine. And on Saturday, they'll have us as well! We'll be doing 2
sets of Afro Latino Soul for y'all, so c'mon by and be ready to
dance. We're charging a super low cover (only 5 bucks!) so we
can support the venue, the musicians & your wallets. And
besides, we don't play uptown that often, so for those of y'all tired
heading downtown all the time, now's your chance!

We've been getting played on WBGO (88.3 FM; wbgo.org) here in
the NY area. Please call them (or email) and request our music!
And if you live elsewhere, we're getting played on over 40
stations around the country, so call your favorite one and
demand some Ya Esta!

Sorry to send this out, but as you may have noticed... we got
hacked!

Some of you recieved a message with "Spice Girls" in the
subject that came from me. Of course I sent out nothing of the
sort. Someone got into the system and sent this out disguised
as me. Rest assured that this hacker did not get a hold of our list
of emails.

My deepest apologizes. I feel horrible about this. Passwords
have been changed, changes have been made, so rest assured
this will never happen again.

If it somehow does happen again, we will delete this Yahoo
Group and take our list somplace safer.

In brighter news.... we made some Top 10 lists for best of 2004!

WBEZ Chicago - Top Ten World Music
WFMU Jersey City - Top Ten World Music
WGMC Rochester, NY - Top Ten Latin Jazz

that did not come from us, and we have made security changes
to assure that it will not happen again,

BRYAN VARGAS & YA ESTA - wishing you and yours a very happy
2005.

2004 was a great year for Ya Está. We had many proud
achievements & milestones this past year. And all of this
success is directly because of you - our friends, family & fans.
We couldn't have done it with out your help. So thank you!

Here's a list of some of our prouder moments this year:

- Released our debut CD, "Afro Latino Soul" in June
- Had an audience of over 200 people at our SOBs CD release
party (and they all got some cake!)
- YE debuted at the Copacabana, BAM, NJ PAC and some of the
best venues/festivals in the area.
- YE spread our wings for the first time to eastern LI, Rhode
Island and other not-so-exotic places that are really impressive
to a city kid like me.
- Celebrated our 5th anniversary with a return to the Knitting
Factory
- Our 1st Live national radio appearance on the Joey Reynolds
Show WOR AM.
- Received airplay on over 40 different great radio stations
across the entire country
- Got reviewed by NY Newsday, All About Jazz, Peter Watrous in
Descarga.com and lots of great press.
- Self-distributed our CD to the coolest & best record stores in
New York & online.
- Sold a ton of CDs ourselves and through stores.
- And most surprising of all: WE SURVIVED THE WHOLE
THING!!

-----
Things to look forward to in 2005:
We're working on some great stuff. So look for some more
media appearances, and mini-tours across the US & Europe.
Lots of new music & we plan on recording later this year - so
watch out for CD #2 in Early 2006!

NEXT SHOW -

great band Gutbucket. GB are band in the Tonic/Knitting Factory
mold, very cool adventurous stuff. C'mon out and check it out.
We will have some new surprises for you. This is after all our
belated New Year's/Asalto Navideńo show, so don't miss it.

Hey folks we got asked to do a last minute show at the Upper
West Side's answer to the downtown club scene: Makor. Makor
is a great spot with a beautiful bar, good sound & lots of room for
dancing. So hey, how could we refuse? This'll be a stripped
down percussion-only show, with more of an "un-plugged" vibe.
But don't fret, there will still be plenty of songs for those
out to boogie. Expect some newer material mixed in with your fav
YE classics.

Big Ups to everyone who came out to the anniversary show at

CD RELEASE PARTY!!!
Featuring special guests:
Arturo O'Farrill - piano, Pablo Vergara - keys, Goussy Celestin &
Alexa Burneikis - dance, plus more TBA….

This is it folks! The official debut of AFRO LATINO SOUL - the
very first studio recording of Bryan Vargas & Ya Está. For those
of you new to the list, this CD has been a loooooong time in the
making. Produced by legendary Latin Jazz pianist Arturo
O'Farrill, Afro Latino Soul captures us doing what we do best -
playing, jamming & grooving an having a blast with 9 of your
favorite Ya Está hits. The CD has been newly re-mastered by
Gene Paul (Grammy award winning engineer of Roberta Flack's
"Killing Me Softly" & the son of the legendary Les Paul) - so the
sound quality is vastly improved from our earlier pre-release
edition. Plus it features full color album artwork by Camilo Rojas
Lavado.

For now, this CD will only be available at this show!! This will
change of course in the coming weeks as the disc goes
national, but why wait? C'mon out and be the 1st on your block
to own a copy. We will be happy to sign as many copies as you
like.

Also - this is our last scheduled gig until August. So unless
something comes up (which it might… or might not!) this is your
last chance to get your Ya Está groove on for a while.

As listed above we've invited special guests galore to join us on
Monday. Most notably our producer Artuo O'Farrill will be tickling
some ivories with the band. Arturo is the leader of both the
Chico O'Farrill Orchestra and the new Lincoln Center Afro Latin
Jazz Orchestra - this cat is baddddddd. Also joining us on keys
will be Pablo Vergara (from the Alfredo de La Fe band & Groove
Collective) and we will have a special dance performance from
Goussy Celestin (Retumba, Femm Nameless) & Alexa
Burneikis. More guests are being scheduled so check our
website for updates - or hey, just come down!

Still not convinced? How's this - FREE DOMINICAN CAKE (while
supplies last). We will be serving up some Dominican Cake in
honor of the CD release. Dominican Cake is the sweetest,
sugariest, most Anti-Dr. Atkins cake ever produced by mankind.
Ours will have Guava filling too!

So this is THE Ya Está show to attend. THE one not to miss.
Please forward this to all of your friends (and your enemies
too…why not?) and c'mon out this Monday. We would love to see
you all there.

-----
Also - look for us in NY Newsday this Sunday!
