This is a discussion group for guitar lovers and fans of master luthier Kazuo Yairi and the great line of guitars created by his craftsmen in Japan for distribution under the Alvarez-Yairi name (St. Louis Music Co.)in the United States and the K. Yairi label throughout the world. The photo section contains images of the hand manufacturing process and some interesting designs. Feel free to post links and on topic info concerning these works of art as you see fit.
For more than 70 years, the Yairi family has pursued the art of guitar making from a small factory hidden in the hills of central Japan. Today, Kazuo Yairi continues his family's tradition of crafting some of the world's finest guitars using time honored materials and techniques. In an era where many guitar manufacturers have employed computers, lasers, and robotics in a race to produce more guitars faster, Yairi chooses to create guitars of distinction the old way...by hand.
