Hi Again Bert,
still on a quest to discover more about YC 70 guitars.
They seem to be pretty uncommon. Have you had anything to do with the Alvarez
Yairis? there seems to be a heap of them. The CY 190 seems to be a venerated
model. Wonder how it compares with the YC models? Also, does your guitar have a
signature?
Thanks very much.
I hope all's well in your corner of the world.
Angus

guitar locally and cannot find out anything about it on the net. Am interested
in what kind of wood it was made from, and where it stood in the range. It has
solid cedar top, ebony fret board but am unsure if the back and sides are
laminated. The inside grain seems to match the outside grain, and the back and
sides look as if they may be maple. It is a lovely guitar to play with great
volume and tone. Can anyone help?

Hello Angus,
I have also a Yairi YC70 (1976 model).
The sides and back are maple (fiddleback) , with solid cedar top and ebony
fretboard.
My guitar also has matching inside/outside grain...
Laminated or not, it is a very nice sounding and playing guitar.
I have put a dutch yairi pricelist (k Yairi from dutch.pdf) in the files folder.
Here you can find info of the YC70 and the other models.
And some pic's of my YC70 guitar are in the Photo folder.
Bert
