It hasn't arrived yet as the auction only ended a couple of hours ago
but I am pretty excited about it. I mainly play (and love) Martins but
wanted a laminate back/sides for taking out. I think the price was
pretty good, the seller probably would have gotten more and higher bids
had he mentioned Yairi and not just Alvarez.
Any opinions on this guitar? What sort of rosewood do you think it is -
EIR or Brazilian?
Looks like it might have a few scratches, but that's no big deal if
you're just looking for a player. The back and sides look like some
kind of rosewood, but not brazilian.
If you like Martins, you should like this guitar, too. I don't know
if you got a good deal or not. Since I'm in Amercia, I really don't
have a handle on the currency exchange to dollars. As long as you're
happy, what the heck? I have three Yairi's and probably paid too
much for all of them, but I don't care. I love them!

You did quite well. It appears to be in pretty decent shape, you got the strong
case and it
has a pickup. That wood could be some real fancy Indian, it's nicely
bookmatched. I took a
2nd look at it and it's a hard call to make. Whatever it is it is sure pretty...
Hope you enjoy it in good health

At $547, I'd say you did very well! Let us know how you like it when
it arrives.

Hello, Lynn and welcome aboard. I own a dy77 of the same vintage. I
feel certain the back and sides of your guitar are Indian Rosewood
and I think you got a really good deal. Congratulations! Mike
