For those of you who live in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area, I
am happy to inform you that the Opera Theater of Northern Virginia, in
conjunction with the Teatro de La Luna is performing Vives Bohemios at
the Gunston Arts Center in Arlington, Va on the weekends of February

Early returns from rehearsals indicate that the cast are excellent
singers. I attended a recital of the lead soprano last week at which she
sang Cossette's aria. She has a beautiful, powerful voice. Staging is
directed by Mario Marcel of Teatro de la luna, with John Edward Niles,
who is celebrating his 25th anniversary as artistic director of the
opera company, as conductor.
