Hello Mitch and Marco (with my same name!) :-)
Me too, I have seen this photo with Zawinul, Miles and Ivan Zawinul,
but it's a recent concert (after 1990, I guess....??)

I have the videotape of this concert, and it's really nothing
special (Wayne Shorter was in the band too).
It was a particular situation and the music was very improvised,
with a little rehearsal, so the results weren't exceptional.

About Zawinul & Miles, my friend Stefano Lazzerini has written a
wonderful article that is on my website at:

this article is very interesting, the only problem is that it's
written in Italian !! And I really can't translate it in this moment.

I don't remember what Brian Glasser wrote about this topic. Does
somebody remember it??
